Rated 4.6 out of 5★ by 22reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5★ by This book has more info for AA women I am (3C/4A). The book encourages you to embrace YOUR natural curls and shows you how to identify what types of curls YOU have and how essentially to care for them. I enjoyed this book much better than the first. I think that the video was important in showing us exactly how to follow the books instructions for washing your hair. For my 3C/4A type hair it was very insightful as to what I should and should not be doing.I should say that this book may be more entertaining than educational for some readers. I have been natural for 3 years now. If you are Newly Natural then this book may be educational for you and I appreciate the book expanding for AA women. With that being said. This book is similar to the first book but there's a section dedicated to African American hair type. This book shows curl types as waves, loose curls and tight curls and then those types have S'wavy, Wavy, Cherub, Botticelli, Corkicelli, Corkscrew, and Fractal or Zizag. The problem is for those people like myself that have two types of hair. So I just try my best to mix the two types and just use what my hair likes best.I should mention that this book does show in detail her haircutting technique as well. She provides guidelines for trimming your own hair. There are a few Homemade Hair Recipes that are not her own products, so I thought that was good. The No Pooing process advises you to clean your scalp with a bit Botanical or Sulfate/Cone free Conditioner (NEVER Shampoo Curly hair); rinse; then condition your hair again, leaving most of the conditioner in to hydrate the curls. The book also shows you how to wear updo's but I don't recall seeing any styles for TWA's or above the should lengths for AA women. But no worries ladies! We will all be at least at Shoulder length soon!!!! It did also have an area indicating chemicals found in most shampoos.I visted Salon 54 in Peachtree City GA and the owner there cut my hair for me. She has several AA customers and did not do the Deva Cut on my hair but she did trim it for me. I did not want to cut my hair so I will go back in 6 months to see if I think my hair is long enough to cut it into the Deva style and still have hair. Kim 03/02/2012

Rated 5 out of 5★ by Great book for those curly girls out there! I came upon the title of this book when I was having a bad hair day. I was looking for ideas to tame my unruly curls. Someone mentioned this book on their blog and I quickly looked it up. I received the book within a week of ordering and I read it that same weekend. I have learned a lot about the nature of my curly hair and have learned to apprecciate it in a new way. The book is wonderful because it contains easy to follow steps to take care of your curly hair. I also liked that in order to follow the steps you do not have to spend a crazy amount of money like must magazines make you believe. The book also contains homemade recipes for hair products. 11/27/2011

Rated 5 out of 5★ by Perfect book for curly hair. This book was amazing. It had very crucial information for people with curly hair, things that you wish you were told as a baby. I hated my curls as a young girl, and straightened it everyday. That's changed. It changed my outlook on hair COMPLETELY.Amazing.Shipping from walmart to the store was pretty slow, but oh well. 08/05/2011
