The time: the 1750s. The place: New York's Hudson Valley during the French and Indian War. A white trapper, Hawkeye (John Hart), and his Native American blood brother Chingachgook (Lon Chaney Jr.) - last of the Mohicans - struggle for justice amidst the turbulence of war. Based on the critically acclaimed novel by James Fenimore Cooper, these are the thrilling tales of two courageous friends whose steadfast bond leads them into daring adventures and perilous situations. Includes Episodes: "Stubborn Pioneer" - Trouble befalls a group of settlers who travel into hostile Huron country when their leader foolishly disregards warnings to steer clear of the treacherous territory. "Washington Story" - When a lovely lady and a young prospector infringe upon some trappers' hunting and trapping reserves, they become targets of vengeance. Hawkeye and Chingachgook intervene just in time - before the innocent settlers become hapless victims. "Circle Of Hate" - After Indians wipe out a young army lieutenant's family, he develops an obsessive hatred toward Native Americans. Soon the hatred turns murderous, and the man attempts to slay or, at the very least, maim any Indian he comes across. Hawkeye and Chingachgook hear the Indians are planning retaliation - to avoid an all-out war, they attempt to assuage both sides and make peace between the warring parties. "Powder Keg" - Rallied by an unscrupulous fur trader by the name of McKenzie, Huron tribes plot to demolish a nearby settlement where a rival fur trader, who has taken business away from McKenzie, resides.
