Directed by Lasse Halstrom, based on the novel by best-selling author Nicholas Sparks, with screenplay by Jamie Linden, "Dear John" tells the story of John Tyree (Channing Tatum), a young soldier home on leave, and Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried), the idealistic college student he falls in love with during her spring vacation. Over the next seven tumultuous years, the couple is separated by John's increasingly dangerous deployments. While meeting only sporadically, they stay in touch by sending a continuous stream of love letters overseas - correspondence that eventually triggers fateful consequences.

Rated 5 out of 5 by lostcave dear john movie this was a really good movie; i seen as soon as it came out this past feb. It is probably geared more toward the military families, because of its main storyline.i really enjoyed it primarily because of that. channing tatum is awesome; and i think young people will enjoy it as well. just a really good movie/story; with a different story line than i would have thought! can't wait to go buy the dvd today~when it comes out. 05/25/2010
