    • A. This is not one of their TruLED TV's only the 47" and 55" are TruLED. Contrast ratio is only 50,000:1 plus is uses DCR dimming, so the whole screen dims up/down.

    • A. You need to contact your satellite tv service provider. You probably can use what you have, but if you do not have the High Definition satellite service, you may want to get it. Same thing with a blue ray disc player.

    • A. Then again TV stations only produce at the most a 1080i stream, which is not true HD, it more or less compairs to a 720p quality and then again it might depend on your device itself, if it is only going to output a 480 picture through coax and if it only outputs 1080i/p through HDMI, either way hook it up the conventional way, if it looks good enough it probably is good enough, why pay for extras that you might not need.

    • A. Like all new HD televisions, you will need the HDMI cables for a true high def. I would suggest that you spend time comparing the picture quality with LG and Samsungs available at Walmart. I changed my mind ant purchased the LG for superior picture quality.

I had my VIZIO for about a month and it started to freeze up on me while using the VIA apps, which are not the greatest selection except for Netflix. Anyhow after turning the unit off, it would not turn back on, had to unplug from the wall a few times to get it to work again, then I got the red pixelated clouds all over the dark areas of the screen, seems like some sort of issue VIZIO has with its products. After searching around the internet about this issue it seems to be fairly common and looks like a common failure, that and the fact that VIZIO only lasts about 1-2 years, then you gotta buy a new one. I decided to return mine, thank goodness Walmart is cool, or I would have been stuck with a Lemon. If you are going to go cheap this route I would suggest trying out the toshiba for 200 bucks more cause losing about a grand on this is not worth it. CHeck around for "vizio red" and you will see just how many issues are around with unsatisfactory customers. Otherwise while it was working picture and sound were great. Too bad I couldnt put down 0/5 stars.

After many hours surfing the net for reviews of LCD HD Tvs I finally decided to purchase Vizio 42" 1080p, 240z from Walmart. What a product i can't stop telling people how good it is. The picture is perfect, beyond expections. Setup was easy even for this 79 year old retiree. I also purchased the Vizio Sound Bar which really enhances the sound. Service from Walmart site to store was first class

The picture quality is amazing. It's almost too real looking. The "smooth motion" effect makes some shows (Lost for example) look so real it was too much for my wife. You can always turn it off or adjust it be less intense as needed, so I wouldn't call this a product flaw. The wireless networking is very quick and painless. Just search for your network and enter your password and POOF, you're online. The Netflix app is awesome. Picture quality on older movies looks great, I believe due to the picture enhancing capabilities of the tv. Pandora internet radio may come in handy, but I doubt I'll use these apps to post a facebook status or anything like that. The keyboard on the remote is handy, though a bit small for a lot of text input. I look forward to more apps being added in the future, but if you have netflix, it's worth it just to be able to stream movie without hooking up the laptop. It claimed to have an SRS sound equalizing feature but I haven't found that to be very effective. Volume still spikes with commercials. I was a bit disappointed to find that the bluetooth doesn't seem to work. I couldn't get it to recognize any devices. Tried my phone, my wife's phone, and some bluetooth headphones. I'm wondering based on something I saw on vizio.com if that functionality is scheduled to come with a firmware update in the future. That was a disappointment. Remote is quick and easy to set up control to other devices. Cable box, dvd player, all controlled by the vizio remote. All in all, great tv for the price. Can't get apps and 240Hz anywhere else for this price.

I really love this TV. The features are really unbelievable. The widgets are really cool. I use the Amazon video and Netflix widgets all of the time. The built in WiFi means that you don't have to run an ethernet cable to it. The remote with the sliding keyboard is nice. You can set user profiles. The TV did an update the day that I got it and I didn't have to do anything. The TV setup is really easy and all you have to do is answer the questions. I also like the bluetooth audio so I can watch TV without bothering anyone else. It was really worth the price.

Love it...love it...love it We searched for months trying to decide which HDTV to purchase. I found this one online and went to Walmart to check it out. We got a better deal online than we could at the store for the same TV and the shipping from site to store was free. It was here within a week. We got it home, took it out of box, plugged it in and started the quick set up. There was no selection for the TV input from cable. We had to get online technical support to walk us through and set it up, but they did an exceptional job and it was no problem. The picture is one of the best we've seen anywhere, even on the most expensive TV's. The sound was a problem, at first. It would be fine and then it would seem to get louder and louder, as we had read in one of the other reviews, so we just turned off SRS True Volume in the advanced menu of the settings in audio, and it sounds great! No more problem there. We have Bose speakers hooked up to it through our receiver, and when we turn them on it's like your sitting in a movie theatre, but we don't turn the speakers on unless we're listening to one of the music channels or watching a movie. The sound is good enough without them. The aps are a bonus!!! We have Netflix and it is so simple to just click on the widget, pick a movie and be watching it within a couple of minutes. It downloads straight to this TV. It's also great to be able to check into your facebook account while you're watching TV. The remote is really exceptional, too. It slides up and has a QWERTY keyboard built in and makes it easier for us old folks to navigate. I'm telling you, that if we can do it, you can too!!!If you are really trying to decide which HDTV to buy...stop putting it off and buy this one...we would buy it again tomorrow

Replaced a Sharp Aquos-that would not "stay Lit". Did a lot of on line research, I think I got best bang for the buck. Hooked up to FIOS and thru router to internet (no Wires) Best of all worlds, NetFlix widget works great. Overall I am "Smug" cause it does what I want, and I did not break the bank. It Came When expected and was truely Plug and play.

After reading many other reviews I decided to go with this TV and have been very pleased. Very easy to set up. Have not used internet access as much as I wanted to but that is just because I have been occupied elsewhere. Do have Netflix so this has been nice. Haven't really explored all of the internet options etc but glad I have it. The sound seems a little low when turned to 20 or 21, sometimes have to increase volume. But generally very pleased and happy so far that we got this TV.

I'm not one to give anything a good review if it doesn't deserve it, but to me this is a great TV for a very good price. I was told by a professional TV installer if this model is in stock then I should not hesitate to buy it. I bought one online @ walmart.com looked online an day later and they were all sold out! If your looking for a great TV well worth its value get this one. Hurry though it seems as if this is a very popular model...

Amazing picture quality. I turned off the smooth motion effect and it really improved the picture. The Netflix app is amazing quality. Add movies/tv shows to your Instant Queue online, and they will show up immediately on your Instant Queue on your tv, along with a selection from each genre. Watch unlimited tv shows and movies online for no additional cost on your bill. I just wish they would add more new releases to the list of what you can watch online. And of course you have to have a way to connect your tv to the internet. I love that you can view slideshows in full screen from your facebook photos. Haven't tried many more of the apps yet. Check out the Vizio website for more info on the apps. If you have Dish Network, code 627 syncs your remote. Hold down the TV button until all input buttons flash. Press 627#. It has a set up guide to get you started but I just had to exit out of it and plug things in my way since I don't have all the cables I need for HD yet. It only has one AV input, so I had to use coaxial for satellite, I'll have to get a component cable for my Wii, and then I can use AV for my DVD player. (Don't have a blu ray or HD satellite yet.) Full keyboard remote is awesome for updating your facebook, etc. I would definitely recommend this TV. For what you get, it is a great value!

I purchased this TV 4 months ago and I absolutely love it. I use the facebook Widget a lot. One drawback of that particular widget is that you can type something using your slide out keyboard on the remote and you can ignore or accept friend request, but you cannot check email messages sent to you on facebook. I can see all of my friends and what they are saying without pulling out my laptop and I can type messages. Anyway, back to the review....The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the sound. The sound seem to jump up a little bit when a commercial comes on. For anyone considering buying this TV, please check the specs on the Vizo web site to ensure you have enough places to plug your equipment. I have a DVR, a Cable Box, WII & Wireless headphones and I was not able to plug in my Wii. I actually have to unplug my DVR when I want to play WII on that TV. So make sure there is enough spots for you. I had to end up putting my DVD on another TV in another room because of this issue....but other than that, it is great. No problems for me with the bluetooth. I love being able to pull up my widgets such as the weather for my set areas, cbs sports as well as other things and still have half of a screen to see the TV. So I could watch a program on TV and type something on facebook. Love It! It was very simple to set up everything.
