I purchased Scotchguard Fabric & Upholstery Protector to use on a tote bag that my daughter had made for me with my 4 grandchildren on it. Before I started using it I sprayed it inside & out w/ several THIN coats to ensure even & the best coverage. The photo I've attached is after a couple of months use. My tote still looks like new & it is used daily! I have used Scotchguard thru the years & am never disappointed!

I have been using Scotchgard Fabric and Upholstery Protector for a long time. Some of my many uses are to protect automobile upholstery, chairs and various jackets. If you are a camper it also works well on tents. Be sure to follow the instructions and test first. I am well pleased with this product and it has served me well through the years.

This product is great for cloth purses, placemats,runners etc to protect from staining and facilitate cleaning. I use and have used for years.

For some reason Scotch-Guard is impossible to find in any store other than Walmart. I love Scotch Guard and use to protect everything from furniture to clothing. It seals fabrics to prevent stains. I have a white couch and wanted to make sure that it was stain resistant and used three cans of Scotch-Guard to protect it. This is much cheaper than paying for the furniture dealer to stain protect your furniture (as they really use Scotch - Guard or some derivative of it anyway). Since I don't live near a Walmart and this is the only store online or otherwise that seems to carry it anymore I ordered 6 cans via Walmart's online store. They arrived promptly and in perfect condition.

I use this to treat most (if not all) fabric items I sell online for the past 2 years, as an added courtesy to keep the items looking clean and bright. While the Scotchgard does wear off after some time, it's something that my customers can easily find and reapply to their items to make them last longer. The only thing I dislike about this product is that it has a tendency to make fabrics with pink, red, black, and/or purple bleed, so I have to use a different fabric protector for items with those colors in the fabrics.

A. Hi Lmfirst1 We have not tested Scotchgard(TM) Fabric & Upholstery Protector for luggage. We recommend testing it in a small spot to see if the dyes are color safe. We also recommend masking off any non-fabric materials (zippers, leather, tags, etc.) off. Thanks!

A. Thank you for asking! The Scotchgard™ Fabric & Upholstery Protector is not recommended for suede or leather. It will dry on the surface and leave a white film on the suede. A. Thank you for asking! There are quite a few different types of Microfiber on the market currently. To know if Scotchgard™ Fabric & Upholstery Protector will work on your Microfiber furniture, we recommend testing it in a small inconspicuous area. There are two things to watch for. The first is the colorfast test. While the test spot is wet, rub with a paper towel or white cloth to see if any color comes up. If any color comes up, we do not recommend our product at all. The second part of the test, if no color comes up, is to let the test area dry. Once dry, check the look and feel of that area. Most Microfiber has a texture to it and in some cases, Scotchgard™ can lay that texture down. If you see or feel any change to the Microfiber texture, we again would not recommend using our product. But if there is no color transfer and the Scotchgard™ does not affect the texture, it would be safe to use on the microfiber.
