while i have built most of my Computers over the years mainly gaming PC. i wont go into all the nuts and bolts about things you might not understand. the HP P6210F does just what it was built to do and that is multitask. the more you throw at it the more it keeps going, this PC was made to surf the web watch videos have more than one program going, all at the same time with little to no slowdown. I've actually tried to overload it with multi projects at once but the P6210F keeps trucking along. if you skipped Vista and are coming right out of XP it will take a couple of days to get accustom to windows 7 but its not hard and in no time you'll have it down and windows 7 is actually fun to work with. one other note on this PC i thought was interesting. for those that are still using a dial up 56K for there Internet maybe i got lucky but this PC has the Fastest 56K modem i have ever seen by far. if your looking for a good home computer that was made to burn movies, surf the net, edit photos all at the same time this one is for you.

This is a great computer for the price. Plenty of memory and disk. Very fast. I have not had any problems since I purchased it - a month ago.

I don't know about this as a gaming machine, but for us old folks that do heavy internet use, along with email, and some personal business applications, this is a great machine. I replaced an older HP with this unit. I thought my old machine was doing ok, but I was ready to upgrade after 5 years of reliable HP product use. So I bought this here. And am I happy. The machine was easy to setup, there is not a lot of intrusive vendor software pre-loaded (thank you HP), and the HP utilities seem to be helpful. Windows 7 has been a piece of cake to use. Be sure you spend some time looking at the Windows 7 tutorials and videos on their website. They are helpful. The only complaint I have is we were Outlook Express bigots, and that is no more. The replacement is ok, but not as flexible. Overall, I think HP (and Microsoft) have a winner here. Great speed, ease of use, good tools, good performance. Glad I went with it.

No Wireless Capability on arrival

This is my fourth HP computer. I wanted System 7 on a reliable desktop and bought this one after looking at a few reviews on this site. After about 4 hours spent trying to get it to work on our wireless home network, we finally got through to HP help after several trys. Turns out this computer does NOT have a wireless card in it! We ended up buying an adapter -Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N USB adaptor for $79. plus shipping. We could have purchased a wireless card that would have required opening up the computer and installing it inside. This computer is heavy and the adapter let us avoid lifting and moving the thing around. Each time I use the computer, I have to disconnect the adapter and re-plug it in or I loose connectivity. I have also had issues with installing Norton 360 that required a call to Symantic and turning over the computer to the rep on the phone in order for them to install it remotely. When you receive a computer that promises easy set-up, it is very frustrating to have to deal with issues like this. In the past few years, we have never received a computer that was not set up for wireless. HP needs to rethink this issue and at the very least put a prominent statement in their advertising for this computer warning that wireless is an add-on.

Nice computer and very appealing. Worked really good till I wanted to transfer my files that I backed up from a previous computer to this one. EVERY time I started the transfer it crashed and went to the blue screen. This happened 4 or 5 times till I gave up. After this I decided to call HP support to get some help. They ran tests and concluded that for a guaranteed fix they would let me download patches that would fix the problem for a fee. Keep in mind this is right out of the box, day one and it needs patches to work. Does not make any sense. Other than that it worked well. Fast at opening programs and doing various other tasks. Good computer for the money if you don't mind the hidden fees.

Nice Family PC

I purchased this PC based on price and ease of set up. I was willing to build my own PC, but the cost was too much for what you get in a prebuilt HP. This model gives you all you need and more. Sure you get extra programs you don't want, but you can uninstall some. 6gb's is more than enough RAM, and Windows 7 64bit is so much better than Vista. Like I said, it's a great family PC to take care of surfing the net, email, and photo and video editing. I paired this PC with a HP monitor 2159m and it's all in one great package. If your a gamer, all you need to do is a add a video card and your set. I can see this PC lasting a good 5 years before I need to upgrade.

Blue Screen Crashes Too Common

I've used this computer for six weeks now. It consistently crashes to a blue screen when large files are transferred to or from an external HD or a memory stick plugged into the USB ports at the rear of the computer. This does not happen when the same memory devices are plugged into the USB ports in the front of the computer. Scanning the web shows other people have this problem. Perhaps there is a fix but HP doesn't seem to know about it. I would not buy this computer again and if transferring files to or from an external drive is part of your routine, I suggest you avoid it also.

After reading all the reviews I did buy this system and have not received it yet but I am sure that I will be pleased with it. For you older folks be sure and consult a professional and tell them know what you want in a computer and what your desires are such as (internet, word perfect) HP is the way I would go. Happy New Year P.S. Don't let your KIDS TALK YOU INTO ANY THAING YOU DON'T NEED.
