    Great Futon!

I just finished assembling this futon and I love it! It is firm with a thick comfortable mattress, unlike the metal frame futons that have thin mattresses and can become very uncomfortable. To get the futon to turn into a bed you have to pull each side as far in as it will go and it releases so you can lay it flat. The same goes for the arm rests. I also love the velour feel it has! Hope this helps someone!

    Great Futon

My roommate and I bought this futon for our dorm room, and we have had it for about 3 months now. This futon was able to fit under my lofted bed, and I am 6'3" and I can comfortably stretch out across the futon, well my feet hang off a little but not much. All of the positions of the futon are great, we constantly use the arm rest to either rest our arms, or we tilt them up slightly and use it as pillow/head rest. We use the futon everyday, and I literally sit and lay on the futon hours everyday and it is very comfortable. It is actually perfect, it is soft enough to be comfortable but not too soft where the cushions sink down and get flat. It is firm enough where it supports your butt and back, but not too firm where it is uncomfortable, it is the perfect balance. If you sit in the middle where the cushions join is slightly uncomfortable, but its not too bad, and the futon is long enough where you don't have to sit there. Using the futon as a bed it is fairly comfortable, and the material doesn't look or feel cheap, and it cleans very easily. This is a great futon, and don't go for a cheaper futon I have seen them in person they sit really low to the ground and are not comfortable, and I assume the more expensive futon's are good but this is a great product for a great value.

How do you push down the sides once they have been pulled up? I can't figure this out... Thanks!
    by an anonymous customer 3/28/2010
    • The sides work the same way as the back. Just pull down towards the seat as far as possible and and lay it back down. It will then lay flat.

    • To push down the sides, you have to first push them all the way up toward the seat of the futon and then when you push the other direction, it will lay down flat.

    • You have to push the arms in towards the sofa and pull back. This should release them to be reset.

    • Push it all the way forward like a taco then let it go all the way back. By going forward it will release it to go back.

    • You will need to push the "arm" or "back" all the way down towards the seat until you hear it click. It will then move into the postition you want them in.

    • pull the back cushion or the sides all the way forward, this causes the spring to release and allows the sides or back cushion to revert to the flat position. From the flat position you can readjust the sides and back as far forward as you want. The ONLY way to do this is from the flat position. :)

when thie futon goes down as a bed, does it have a support under the other side? like, I know there is a support under the seat when its a couch but when its a bed, is there a support under the other side? please help.
    by jayjayop 4/10/2010
    • there are two legs on the "bed"/"back (futon)" side, I do not know how strong they are, but yes.

    • yes there are foldable legs that can be set down in the back. They are not shown in the pictures but there are two compartments in the back that unzip and the legs fold out so in the upright position they are hidden no one can tell they are there looks more like a couch than a typical futon.

    • yes , the extra 2 legs are hidden inside the mattress. open the 2 zippers on the back of the futon.

    • There is a leg on each bakside that is folded into the back - accessible by opening a zipper. It supported 1 adult wo issue and 2 adults (350+ lbs) ok also, but I wouldn't move much as fear the middle of frame could bend since no center support.

    • It has two support post on the part that lays down when put into the bed position. You can not see them when the bed is up because they are zipped into the back, yet when you lay the back down, you simply unzip the back and pull the support posts out.

    • When the sofa folds out into a bed, the two back legs of the sofa support the other side. The sofa is well-designed in my opinion. I hope you are not a real big guy though. Check measurements if you are - you may prefer a heavier-duty piece. This piece sits a little low but you could put risers under it. Walmart is selling them in the dorm bedroom furniture department.

    • It has 2 metal bars that upzip out of the back of the futon (one from about the middle of each side) and fold down, so yes, I think it would support an average sized person...I wouldnt think over 300 pounds though.
