There's nothing like a basketful of black labs to get the holidays off to a delightfully unpredictable start. Yet when the arrival of ten abandoned pups on Beth Morehouse's doorstep coincides with the news that her ex-husband is coming to her Christmas tree farm for the holidays, things get more complicated at every turn. A pair of lovable, meddling daughters plotting to reunite their divorced parents, a misguided attempt to arouse jealousy, a town overflowing with seasonal spirit, and those adorable, rambunctious puppies make this another of Macomber's heartwarming winners.
Verdict: Tender, funny, sweet, and poignant, this final installment in the best-selling "Cedar Cove" series brings back favorite characters and ties things up in a way that will satisfy longtime fans and make new readers anxious to indulge in the earlier titles. A welcome character list makes it easy to keep everyone straight. Macomber (1105 Yakima Street) lives in Port Orchard, WA.

The people of Cedar Cove know how to celebrate Christmas. Like Grace and Olivia and everyone else, Beth More house expects this Christmas to be one of her best. Thats complication number one. And number two is that her daughters Bailey and Sophie have invited their dad, Beths ex-husband, Kent, to Cedar Cove for Christmas. The girls have visions of a mom-and-dad reunion dancing in their heads. As always in life and in Cedar Cove there are surprises, too. More than one familys going to have a puppy under the tree.
