1200W EPA-Approved Generator 3.9 5 50 54
Great For What I Needed!! I work in the oilfield, and have to use electrical equipment, and computers in my work. Tried usingthe plug in dash transformers, but they would not stand up to the voltage. Some of these devices cost as much as $50.00 and would last for about 1 month. After purchasing the generator, this ceased and the small generator works very good for what I need.Would recommend it for all such applications.Price was very good, and it seems to hold up very good even in harsh environments. 11/30/2007
highly reccomended i highly reccomend this product. i see some customers were unsatisfied but for the money this little generator has power. for the money under$200 it is a great product. granted it's made kinda cheaply but what isnt these days. this generator has powered 15 shoplights with 2 40watt bulbs in each shoplight and a forced air kerosene heater with 2 100 watt droplights all going at the same time in my garage with no sign of strain or bogging down. it wont run a big air compressor though but even my household electric has problems with running my big air compressor. for the money and security this product is a perfect 10 12/12/2008
Needs better Voltage Regulation The Generator could use some engine RPM regulation. I used the generator to give us power to our 5th wheel, all the shore power goes in to a pro-sign inverter. If the power is not good it will disconnect the shore power. The system would work fine tell we would turn on the 27 in. TV the load would trip the pro-sign off line as the generator would "swing 120 down to 108 volts" voltage would go down then up and trip off the pro-sign unit. The only way we could get it to work for us was to by pass the pro-sign and go direct to the TV and Computer. I think the spring on the motor that controls the RMP is not set right. Or may need to be a stiffer spring.I also noted that when we used the computer to play music via the windows media player it had a bad buzzing in the audio. As fair as the gas usage we only could get 5 to 6 hrs per tank of gas. and not the 7 hrs as advertised. We did use the 12 volt battery charger and it seemed to work just fine, it keeped the batteries up at 12.6 volts. As far as noise I think it is more like 100 db of noise not 67 db as advertised. All in all if you need power to charge batteries and some emergency power it worked fine for that.We used the generator for one week 18 hrs a dayWe had lights and Sat TV and computer with the internet via Satellite. For the price it is a good buy. 01/02/2008
A Can-Do Little Generator! When I unpacked it, I just put oil and fuel in the engine, followed the simple directions and it started right up. I quickly opened the choke and it "hunted" for a minute before settling down as it warmed up; that wouldn't have happened if I'd gradually opened the choke as it warmed up. No problem, I could've plugged in an electrical load right away and it would've settled down. I found it will continuously power a 1500W heater without complaint, though obviously that's not recommended. It's got plenty of reserve, though, at its rated 1000W capacity. The whole thing's made in China, including the engine that looks to me like a copy of an OHV Tecumseh. With it running outside under load I can hear it all through the house, sounding about like a push mower. It would be a bit loud for running at night in a quiet campground. My intended use for it is for an emergency heat source for a pet in case of a winter power outage, so noise isn't an issue for me. I think this is a dandy little generator for light duty, at a very good price. 06/13/2009
