About this item

DVD, PG13, 106 minutes, DISNEY

Disenchanted with the daily drudge of crushing rocks on a prison farm in Mississippi, the dapper, silver-tongued Ulysses Everett McGill (George Clooney, "The Perfect Storm") busts loose. Except he's still shackled to his own chain-mates from the chain gang -- bad-tempered Pete (John Turturro, "Summer Of Sam"), and sweet, dimwitted Delmar (Tim Blake Nelson, "Hamlet"). With nothing to lose and buried loot to regain -- before it's lost forever in a flood -- the three embark on the adventure of a lifetime in this hilarious offbeat road picture. Populated with strange characters, including a blind prophet, sexy sirens, and a one-eyed Bible salesman (John Goodman, "Coyote Ugly"), it's an odyssey filled with chases, close calls, near misses, and betrayal that will leave you laughing at every outrageous and surprising twist and turn.

A great movie for the young (mature audience only) and "old". There is some adult content, but nothing offensive. Just reality and how life was back the in the 1930's. The plot is good and has a great story line as it escorts you through the lives of the three main characters. I also found the Music (bluegrass) to be quite fun and exhiliterating. I found myself "getting into it". I couldn't help myself from humming and/or trying to sing the lyrics to the music long after the movie was over.

I was pleased with how quickly the movie arrived at the store for me to pick up. The movie was in good condition when I received it. And the Walmart staff who assisted me were professional, courteous, and handled my pick up transaction in a timely manner. I had a very satisfying experience.

This is one of my favorite movies, so that is why I bought it. I don't buy many moves. It's funny, thought provoking, and of course, George Clooney is always nice to look at, even it he doesn't do his own singing in the movie.
