A fitting final chapter in 1980's Horror. The movie arrived very quickly, and played well. This was the first time I've seen it on blu-ray, and the picture quality was great."Freddy vs. Jason" is a crossover horror film about two serial killers named Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees - Two of the most famous horror characters in the history of cinema. Each character has their own respected film series about them, and in this movie, it is a hybrid of those two character's stories. I think it helps to be familiar with these characters and their movies before seeing this one, or you may be a bit confused, but the film does fill in a few of the holes to give you the basics if you're a first-time viewer. The movie has a few moments that might startle you, as well as tons of gore. There are scenes that show violence, as well as some nudity, adult language, and scenes of teenage characters doing drugs and drinking alcohol. The film's not too long, and the pacing is wonderful. I also really enjoyed the musical score. I think fans of the genre will enjoy it for sure.As a kid, I was terrified of Freddy and Jason, and so were plenty of other kids I grew up with. There was always boyish discussions on the playground among the boys at my grade school about who would win in a fight - Freddy or Jason? When I got older, and I discovered the Internet, I learned that this topic did not just belong to the young boys I grew up with at school in this little small Texas town. It was infact a discussion that plenty of horror fans from all over the world talked about. So "Freddy vs. Jason" is a childhood dream film come true for me, and that is why I like it. It makes me feel young again, and it's a great movie to watch if you just want to get away from real life stresses for a while, and just have fun, and not take life so seriously all the time.In closing, "Freddy vs. Jason" is one of my favorite films. It is a wonderful crossover film. It's just a fun movie, and it will always have a very special place in my heart. 07/14/2011
