In 1776 South Carolina, widower and legendary war hero Benjamin Martin (Mel Gibson) finds himself thrust into the midst of the American Revolutionary War as he helplessly watches his family torn apart by the savage forces of the British Redcoats. great entertainment My grandson, Eric, has worn out this movie (vhs format). He loves it. Got it for him in the dvd format, it will last much longer. 12/17/2008
Mel Gibson/ Patriot This is a great movie and I would encourage anyone interested in History to purchase and watch this movie. Mel Gibson does an outstanding job in playing the part of Benjamin Martin. Too bad there is only 5 stars because I would rate it a 10+. 03/12/2009
