Director John Carpenter presents a romantic science fiction odyssey starring Jeff Bridges as an innocent alien from a distant planet who learns what it means to be a man in love. When his spacecraft is shot down over Wisconsin, "Starman" (Bridges) arrives at the remote cabin of a distraught young widow, Jenny Hayden (Karen Allen), and clones the form of her dead husband. The alien convinces Jenny to drive him to Arizona, explaining that if he isn't picked up by his mothership in three days, he'll die. Hot on their trail are government agents, intent on capturing the alien, dead or alive. En route, Starman demonstrates the power of universal love, while Jenny rediscovers her human feelings for passion.

NOT Widescreen Starman is a fantastic movie.BUT I ordered this DVD from Walmart.com because their web site "Full Frame" but also "Widescreen" so I thought I'd be getting the DVD with both versions on it (I wanted widescreen). When it arrived, it only said "Full screen 1.3:1" on the box so I didn't open it. I returned it to the store.HOWEVER I was at Circuit City in another town today, today looking at TVs, and I remembered reading somewhere that someone bought the Widescreen version there. So I looked and they had two DVDs with identical front covers BUT on the back, one clearly said "Side A contains the Widescreen Version" and the other one was the same as the one I got from Walmart.So if you order it and you want widescreen, read the back carefully before you open it. 09/08/2007
misguided I loved the DVD "Starman". However it is listed as both Fullscreen and Widescreen. It is only in Fullscreen.I would've preferred a Fullscreen/widescreen version since it's a classic Sc-Fi movie.You should change your ad to Fullscreen only. 01/01/2008
