I brought this dvd after reading all the positive reviews and boy am I glad!!! I was getting frustrated trying to teach my 4 year old his letters and sounds, and trying to get him to remember them. But after watching this dvd a few times he was pointing out letters and telling me their sounds! Extra benefit, my 2 year old loves this movie too! I always hear him " the B says buh..". This dvd is put together in a great way that encourages learning while having fun! If I could give this more stars I would and I HIGHLY recommend this product!!

My children ages 3 yr and 19 months both love this dvd. It is slow enough for them to learn, but not so slow they lose interest. After watching it only a few times, they already know the sounds of each letter. I would highly recommend this dvd to anyone wanting to teach their child phonics easily.

I have viewed the earlier version (2003); what is different in the 2009 edition? Are there any more lowercase letters written/included?

  • I haven't noticed a difference. I think it is the same video.

  • I owned the 2003 version and the 2009 version. The first version was scratched which resulted in me having to repurchase it 2 years ago, and then we moved and the video was not in the case so I repurchased another copy. What can I say? I LOVE LEAP FROG. The only thing I noticed was the color was more vibrant in the updated version. And the artwork on the cover. Everything else is the same.

  • I believe it is just an updated cover. The video itself is the same.

  • We have the original version, and I think the updated one is exactly the same as the original. The only difference is the packaging.

  • I have never seen the 2003 edition. The 2009 edition has catchy tunes. My kids are able to remember the tunes and learn the letter sounds.

  • Lowercase letters are shown but they don't demonstrate how to write the lowercase letters. They just focus on writing uppercase. I have no idea the difference in the two versions.
