I have purchased the brand-name product before, but when I found Wal-Mart did not carry it, I figured I would give this a try. I was apprehensive, as many sweet teas are horrific and taste like the old-fashioned instant tea powder. This stuff tastes like it should, like the freshly brewed iced tea indicated on the jug. It is sweet and does a great job at quenching the thirst. It literally tastes like fresh, homemade iced tea. It's that good. I now like it better than the big fancy brand. Compared to that fancy brand, it also is an amazing deal. For the same price, I get about twice the tea and for some reason it also seems to last longer. I am going to start stocking up, because I am fearful once people see how good it is, they will stock up on it too. That is what happened with the name brand product. This is a wonderful product and I would be curious to know who bottles it for Wal-Mart.

Honestly I drink a lot of tea. I probably consume more tea than most Americans do with coffee. My issue is most tea is not what I would call "fresh" . Most tea tastes like it was brewed a month ago and got bitter. Or it was over extracted. The great value sweet tea is nearly perfect. The ONLY time I get a bitterness from it is if I don't drink the gallon in a couple days and its below 1/4 full but even then its better than all other teas pricier than it is. One thing I really love that no one else seems to do is they keep it refrigerated as well as having a freshness seal after you remove the cap. I can only assume this helps reduce potential oxidation so it tastes like it was just brewed with no off taste.

Much better than Red Diamonds tea, and the difference in sizes is wonderful.

The BEST Sweet Tea there is

This is par-none, the best sweet tea I have ever had. I used to hate iced tea, but I'll drink this stuff all day! It's definitely sweet tea, so if you're not into sweet this drink isn't for you. This is probably the only thing that I'll ONLY buy the Walmart brand of. Even though it's not the "sugar-free" version, I feel better drinking it than soda! When I visit family in the hotter parts of Southern California this is all I drink because it really cuts the thirst. I just wish they stocked more of it. It runs out really fast in the store, and the sugar-free version doesn't taste as good.

I've been attempting to discover the caffeine content of 8 ounces (1 C) of WalMart's Great Value Sweet Tea, which contains sugar --thank you for NOT putting honey in it as those allergic to bee stings cannot have honey -- brewed tea, & preservatives. The label does not say "decaffeinated" yet no teas are cafeine free except herbal teas. This is a black tea. How Dow we find out how much caffeine is in each serving, and why does someone on this board repeatedly answer that there is NO caffeine in this product? Do you mean there is no ADDED caffeine in addition to that which naturally occurs in all teas? Or do you mean it has been decaffeinated? If both, by which process has it been decaffeinated: water, steam, extraction, etc? I love this tea, especially because it is not too sweet, but find that if I drink it too late in the day, I can't sleep, which is what happens if I drink colas or coffee. Could someone get us a detailed, realistic explanation on the approximate amount of caffeine in this product, even if it is naturally occurring, because even decaf teas & coffees have some caffeine. Thank you.

  • A. We use a propriety steam brewing process that extracts the caffeine from the tea leaves. Leaving no caffeine in our base.

  • A. Black tea has between 14 and 70 mg of caffeine per 8 oz. Decaf black tea has 0-12 mg. per 8 oz. The amount of caffeine in these gallons of iced might also vary depending upon the source of tea leaves and if the source changes.
