About this item

"Twilight" is an action-packed, modern-day love story between a teenage girl and a vampire. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother re-marries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Culler (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she's ever met. Edward is a vampire, but he doesn't have fangs and his family is unique in that they chose not to drink human blood. Intelligent and witty, Edward sees straight into Bella's soul. Soon, they are swept up in a passionate, thrilling and unorthodox romance. To Edward, Bella is what he has waited 90 years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when a clan of new vampires - James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre) - come to town and threaten to disrupt their way of life.

OMG! I never read the book before I saw this movie and I must say I loved the movie so much that when I recieved the entire books series for Christmas I read all 4 books in 4 days.....I was hooked and still am. I think that any movie based on a book is going to be somewhat different because you dont have all the time to spend copying it word for word. I thought they did a great job fitting the entire book into 2 hours. I must agree that Robert Pattinson is the hottest vampire I have ever seen! lol. I recommend this movie to everyone. It has everything you need to keep you glued to your seat. CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE! (Supposably it is going to be released in late November, early December!!!)

Book against Movie

They left a bunch out of the movie that was in the book, but I think it is best to see the movie first, and then read the book. That way you won't be as disapointed that they left a whole lot out of out the movie. Then when you read the book, it will be just like reading about the movie plus deleted scenes. That's what I did, and I wasn't at all disapointed. That's what got me started on the whole Twilight craze. ;)

Like most of you out there I've read the books and love them! Obviously it's hard for a movie to live up to a great book. And as most books-made-into-movies, it's hard to fit such an indebth story into two hours. So yes there was some parts that could have been done better (ex:meadow scene and him revealing himself as sparkly man) and yes their relationship had to be rushed. But all in all if you're a dedicated twilight fan you'll probably love the movie. I love Twilight and am going to go pre order right now! P.S. There are certain people that need to give Kristen Stewart (Bella) a break! We all picture characters differently and let's be honest we're jealous to not be in her place. It's gotta be hard to live up to such high expectations from fans. She did a pretty good job. The other characters were an excellent casting choice.

Can't wait for the movie to come out! I've watched it a few times and just started with the book. Any ideas on a Twilight themed party? I've got a ton of girlfriends that love the movie as well so I think it'll be tons of fun to have a screening party at home!

  • We are lucky enough to live in Oregon, so for her birthday, my daughter has decided to do a Twilight Tour. She's going to invite some friends and I'm going to drive around and take them to all the local filming locations. We're going to visit the alley, the dress shop, the restaurant where Edward took Bella for dinner, the prom location, the cafe where Bella and Charlie ate and even Bella's house. We're going to decorate the van and play the soundtrack on the drive and play some trivia as well to keep occupied on the drive around the area. When we're gone, we're going to have a screening of the movie, food and cake followed by a sleepover under the giant Edward poster in my daughter's room. My adult girlfriends are even trying to get an invite!

  • I'm throwing a Twilight release party for my daughter and her friends. We're decorating the table Alice style with a black table cloth, red plates, forks only (for Forks Washington), white Christmas lights. and plenty of apples. For the menu, we will be serving mushroom ravioli (the Cullen's made it for Bella when she went to their house) spaghetti, garlic bread, salad. For dessert I will make red velvet cupcakes, and werewolf kibble (I found the recipe online). After dinner, they will rest while listening to the Twilight soundtrack. We will head over to Wal Mart to pick up the DVD at 12:01 for the girls.

  • I just had a birthday party for my daughter last month. Here is what I did. I hung white christmas lights up all around the room. I had some leftover checkered flag table cover that was perfect, being black and white. We put all four of the books on the table, I wrapped up red and white candies in some black Tule with red ribbons and placed those all over the table. I typed up movie quotes and glued them on black card stock and we punched holes in them and tied red ribbons and taped the quotes all over the walls. I had white roses with a single red one in the middle for the centerpiece. Bought some red, black and white plates & napkins. Had red apples also placed all over the table. And of course the usual, red, black and white streamers. We also hung pictures from her magazines and her twilight posters all over the walls. It was absolutely awesome and my daughter and her friends thought it was the coolest. I typed up invitations, using the movie line, how old are you, 13, how long have you been 13 etc... I asked all of the girls to wear their favorite twilight stuff and if they didn't have any to sport the colors. We also sprayed each girl with glitter as they walked in, so we all sparkled like Edward. For those of you with younger girls, this was a huge hit! just wish we could have had the movie to watch, that was all that was missing.

  • Im having a Twilight party! I went to Giant Eagle and got the "heart candies" but they are twilight themed. They say words like bite me, lamb, live forever etc. You get the idea. Then Im making sugar cookies in the shape of an apple and writing "Twilight" on them. Im hanging up create paper and balloons that are black and red just like the book cover. Im getting a Twilight shirt to wear. I think they might be selling them in walmart now. Im also going to have red apples out for the guests to eat. I hope this helps. Have great parties everyone!!!! I've also decided to give Twilight(black) gift bags that include: A red delicious apple, Twilight movie pin, vampire fangs, and a smaller paperback Twilight book. I'm so excited.
