- Yes, as long as you follow the guidelines set down by your physical therapist after you had surgery. Tai Chi is mainly balance, coordination and centering your mind. - Tai Chi is a fantastic low impact excercise. It has been referred to as "Meditation in Motion" along with other notable descriptions. Many of the health benefits have been documented by the A.M.A. along with several University's. Before you begin any type of excercise, you should consult your physician. Tai Chi is used in rehabilition and at several hospitals and clinics, however, since not knowing your medical history, I would advise that you speak with your doctor or physician first. I hope and pray that you have continual improvements in your health. I hope your doctor gives you the clearnace to practice Tai Chi as it has many health benefits that are good for most people.by TaiChiTeacher9/6/2015Was this answer helpful?
