In the early afternoon of Thursday, March 1, 2007, a devastating F4 tornado tore a quarter-mile wide swath through downtown Enterprise, Alabama. Nine people were killed and 121 others were injured that day in the southern Alabama town of under 25,000 people. The worst damage occurred at Enterprise High School, where eight students were among the nine people to lose their lives in this horrible tragedy.
To this day, the students of Enterprise High School are still attending classes in makeshift classrooms and trailers located at various other schools around town. Set for completion in time for the 2010-11 school year, the costs associated with rebuilding the school are estimated at over $80,000,000.
For We Are Enterprise: The Album To Benefit the Rebuilding of Enterprise High School, eleven major talents from the world of country music have come together to do their part to help the effort to pay for the new high school.
All artist and record label net proceeds will go directly to the fund to pay for the new Enterprise High School. Never has great country music gone for a better cause.
