Rocketship X-M DVD This movie I also saw at the Theater when I was younger. This Black and White movie is really not that scary other than a couple minor scenes on Mars explained below. There are also no love scenes in the movie. I have been collecting older SCI-FI movies.One of the main actors is Loyd Bridges before he did the sea hunt episodes.Movie starts out with the government trying to get to the moon first before other countries. The group of 5-6 people(scientists,etc) launch off Earth to the moon, but during the trip, run into problems, and overshoot and end up near Mars instead.They decide to land on Mars and explore and first don't find any signs of life. While resting, they dicover that the Martians found are converted back to cavemen because of a possible radiation war.They have some minor struggles with them and two of the Earth group get killed.There are no close up views of the Martians other than far off views from the Rocky terrain above. So that is the only violence in the entire movie. And those are just people getting hit by rocks from above.Those left in the group leave Mars and discover they have not enough fuel to land back on Earth.They relay a message back to those on Earth telling what they found on Mars before the ship hits the Earth. They do not show the ship crashing, just the last seconds of them talking before they hit.The DVD movie is very good quality. The acting I feel flowed and is very good compared to some. For a older spaceship suspence type movie, it might be one you like to view.ScifibufDT 11/26/2008
