For the longest I hated making rice and beans because the pots I had were the worst and would burn the rice and not cook correctly...So outta desperation I decided to order these online since I knew the issue was that I needed good pots. They work amazing! I've seen other calderos that cost like $23-25 just for one pot so this was the best deal. In hispanic families calderos are a must to have and I finally bought my own set which was wel worth the shipping wait (probably a lil over a week)...only con I can say is that 1 of the nobs came slightly loose but its easy to fix by tightening with a screw driver.

Purchased this item during the Christmas Holiday. I removed them from the box and washed each pot and top, dried them off with a cotton kitchen towel and put them away. Today I decided to use the large pot to boil water and cook pasta. After cooking and draining the pasta I noticed the inside of the pot turned a dark grey color and to make things worse my pasta has a metallic taste to it. Okay when I'm done with this review I'm on my way to Walmart to return this set and get a refund for the pasta it ruined. I am very disappointed!

Well before I purchased these I read the reviews, when I received these I was so happy. First I read the tag instructions and followed them perfectly. While using the small one first, I was pleased that the food was evenly heated, pot was able to keep its shape throughout the cooking process. After using I soaked briefly, washed, dried and after that I used a paper towel to rub on vegetable oil on the inside and began heating on the stove. This is all I have to do everytime I use it. I agree it is an extra step in care, but it is worth the extra step to maintain the quality of my set for a long time. By the way I sauted onion and garlic then added my chicken broth and tomato sauce. When that boiled I added my minute rice (instead of uncooked) rice. This way I don't risk burning anything and tastes just as great.

I am puerto rican and my mom insisted I needed to get my own cardero set ASAP. She looked with me online and payed for this for me...I could not believe the price. They arrived a few days ago and we have been using them for arroz con gandules etc. If you are spanish...and make real puerto rican rice, you use one of these. =]

Excellent Pot

I purchased an IMUSA pot while in TN visiting friends. The pot is AMAZING. It is very light, cooks wonderfully and cleans easily. For those who were having issues with food sticking, you must treat the pot first. 1) Clean with warm soapy water 2) dry with a towel 3) apply a thin coat of cooking oil to the inside of the pot with a paper towel 4) place on stovetop on medium heat for a minute or so to heat. If you are sautéing, treat the pot first. If the pot is pre treated, nothing will stick. My pot has gotten a little darker on the inside from use... I believe this is normal as it seasons. Nothing to be alarmed about. However, it has not turned black. I prefer this pot to my cast iron and my stainless steel. I have only had one thing stick and I believe it is because I did not pre treat it.

This (3) pot combination is a bargain for the sub twenty dollar price tag. Let me first specify the sizes for these pots since is not clear what the sizes are. The 1.4 quart is the smallest with a height of 2.75" and opening of the pot is 7" in diameter. The 2.3 quart is the middle size with a height of 3" and opening of the pot is 9" in diameter. The 4.9 quart is the largest with a height of 3.75" and opening of the pot is 11" in diameter. These dimensions are from just the pot. The lid dimensions are not included. These are incredibly light. I've just purchased these so I can't comment on durability, maybe in a follow-up update.

This set is a great price and my food come out great! I had been on a hunt for deals with this brand of pots for my rice and cooking! I so happened to stumble across this set and was a bit skeptical about the reviews. Well once I received my set, I was immediately happy just with appearance. • A. Yes, I use mine in the oven all the time. I bake roast beef, chicken, salmon, etc. in these pots. I just wrap the knobs with a thick layer of aluminum foil; it really helps the knob from getting overheated.

  • A. Their website says you would clean it thoroughly with soap and water, put it in the oven without the lid at 350 to dry it completely for five minutes and open the "pores". Use oven mitts to take it out and give it a light coating of vegetable shortening (nothing flavored like butter). Turn the pot upside down, put it in the oven with a drip pan just underneath it and bake it for 50 minutes. It will create smoke so you'll want to open all your windows and temporarily disconnect you alarm. I've done this in the past using the same steps except i'll "bake" it on the grill outdoors with the grill on a low flame setting, then you dont need to worry about the smoke.
