  • Theres always something new to do. In the living, breathing world of Animal Crossing: City Folk, days and seasons pass in real time, so theres always something to discover. Catch fireflies in the summer, go trick-or-treating on Halloween or hunt for eggs on Bunny Day. If youre in the mood for something a little faster paced, take a bus to a new urban city area thats unique to Animal Crossing: City Folk. There you can catch a show at the theater or check out the sales at Gracies boutique. But if you dont show your face back home for too long, your neighbors will miss you.
  • Up to four people from your household can live and work together to build the perfect town. Design clothes and patterns, write letters and post messages on the bulletin board for each other, or invite up to three friends to visit your town using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. With the new WiiSpeak microphone, its like youre all in the same room. The microphone sits atop the sensor bar and picks up the conversation of everyone in the room to encourage a more inclusive experience.
  • Get to know your neighbors: The heart of Animal Crossing: City Folk is building relationships with the animals in your town as well as with other players. Befriend your animal neighbors by exchanging letters, gifts and favors. Animals can also move from town to town, bringing their memories and stories from their old towns with them. And since animals are notoriously loose-lipped, they spill all the juicy details.
  • Express your personal style: Customize your town, your house and yourself by collecting bugs, fish, fossils, art, furniture, clothes and accessories. You can also go to the salon in the city to change your hairstyle and get a Mii makeover. Plus, if you design clothes in the tailors shop, animals will wear them and maybe even bring them to other towns.

This game is very fun and enjoyable. In this game you make a character and live your life on a day to day basis in a town of your very own. Now at first this sounds boring but I assure you there is always plenty to do. For the majority of the game you will be working in some way whether it be catching bug, or fish, or fruit picking to make money and pay off your seemingly infite debt to Tom Nook. When you need a break from debt paying you can always just fish or catch bugs for the musuem as well a finding fossils for the musuem. If that's still not enough you can go to the city where you can do a multitude of things which include: Shopping at Redd's black market shop See a show at the Marque Visit the HRA, to see the model room Shop at the extremely expensive yet fashionable Gracie Grace shop Go to the auction house Get your shoes shined Get your hair cut Or Get your fortune told at Katrina's. This game will keep you busy day after day trying to do everything there is to do, and after all it never truely ends.

My bf got me this for Christmas and I love it! Its in real time. They celebrate different holidays.....lots to unlock. Lots to do.....although it is a lot of reading. You can buy tools such as axes, shovels, fishing poles, Bug net. Sell items to make money or just hang around town and have parties with friends. If you like sim type games then this is for you. If your unsure then rent it first I did then 3 days later I got it for xmas. Lots to unlock and if you need help you can get hints and holiday info when you get gifts and such from gaming sites. I definitly recommend this game!!! Plus if you get the mic then add friends to your town or family and you can do stuff together and talk online its great!

It goes off real time. You can go fishing and sale your fish for "bells" [[just like dollars]], different fish r out at different times of day, u can donate the fish to the museum and learn about fish, u go around looking for mushrooms, planting trees and growing flowers, meet new people, celebrate holidays, catching bugs, designing your house, managing your money [[u have to pay off your house then u get more upgrades]], u can dig up fossils and learn about dinosaurs, celebrate everyones birthday on the game, new fish and bugs every month, and if u get the game u HAVE to buy the game guide to ANIMAL CROSSING... it tells u when what fish u can catch when, gives u hints, tells u whos birthday is when, gives all clothes u can buy and all furniture, and tells u how much u can get for each fish u sell... there is too much stuff to name off about the game and the guide book... its a super fun game, exciting, and very adventurous... i looooove this game... and im a grown women with children lol

Although simple enough for a child to enjoy, I'll have to admit I had a lot of fun buying & furnishing my house, designing clothes, and fishing.

Like the My Sims, this sucks you in, and you want to continue playing. Being someone disabled physically, I look for a game that is easy to play and fun enough to keep my attention because I lay for long periods of time. Starting out is less fun than My Sims-but, like the Sims, you have tasks that need to be completed, in order to be rewarded. In My Sims the rewards come much more quickly, so, in that way, Animal Crossing is more tedious, and time consuming to find your rewards, which are given to you in the form of bells (money), which you use to pay for your mortgage, or clothes, or other things you want to purchase. You can shake the trees, and get oranges, or bells (coins), or furniture, or other things (encased in leaves). The rewards don't come quickly enough for my taste, and sometimes you get stung by bees shaking the trees, leaving you with a swollen eye. There are shells by the seashore to pick up also, to sell for bells. Later, when you purchase a shovel, or fishing pole, or net, you can use these tools for other ways to make money. With the shovel, you can dig up fossils, or bang on rocks that give you bells (coins)-or you can fish for fish-some of which take a while to get to bite, and catch butterflies and other various bugs with the net. All can be sold at one store, for bells (money)-and you can purchase more equipment there. There are other animals in the town, that sometimes ask you to help them out, and if you choose to help them, often they give you bells after you complete your task and go back and speak to them. There is a bus that takes you to the city, where you can get a makeover, and adopt your wii identity for the right price, and, go to the show, which gives you different emotions-go to a fortune teller, or other city ventures that have not been very productive for me yet, though I think I have more to figure out that I can do later in the game, as it seems to add on progressive tasks. If you have a computer hook up, you can go to other people's towns, and communicate with your friends, which would probably be an excellent thing for many, and if I had that feature, I may have given this and excellent scoring, although it still doesn't make the rewards come as quickly as I think they should. I mean sometimes you really have to shake a lot of trees to find a bell, or wait some time for a fish to bite, after throwing and rethrowing to get the right position where the fish faces your bait, and, you can't position and turn so you can see behind or on other sides of buildings, like you can in My Sims, which is a real disappointing thing, as you have to pick up things dropped behind buildings sometimes, but you can't see them. The other downfall, for someone who wants to keep playing, when they can't sleep at night, is that they close the store at 10:00 p.m. where you sell your wares, and the stores in the city close early-I believe at 9:00 p.m.-there is the designing store that closes at 11:00, and you don't find as much to pick up after hours, and the people are veeeerrrrrry grouchy at night, like it was meant to be for a child that has a bedtime-very aggravating. You have all the things you find in your pockets, and if they are full, you have to take them to the store to sell, therefore, after hours, you either drop them somewhere to find them later, and continue to wander about shaking trees-which at night seem pretty bare, or stop playing and start again in the morning. All in all I like it, and like I say, it does suck you in and you want to keep going and may be much more fun, if you have the computer hook up.

Im a young teenager and im one of those skater punks you see, haha. But I actually liked this game, how you can have your own house and buy clothes and do different real life activites. If you like a real life (for the most part) game then i recommend this very much.

We rented this game at first and soon realized that we had to buy it! It is so fun! We are a family of 4. My kids are 11 and 7 and this game is fun for the whole family. You first create a name for a city and that is your city for the entire game. Each player gets his or her own house that they can eventually upgrade. You meet animals in your city and can make friends with them. They give you presents and will ask you to deliver packages to other residents. To make money, you collect fruit, fish, bugs, fossils and other things to sell at the store. The game is played in real time, so when it's 5:00 in real life it's also 5:00 on the game. When it's Christmas or New Years in real life it's also that time on the game. This game will not disappoint. There is so much variety. We have been on Christmas break and have played it everyday! Love it!

  • A. There are added bonuses if you use the internet and visit or be visited from other towns. Such as the final upgrade to the store. You do not need Wii Speak to play.

  • A. you can play without getting on the internet. You dont have to have wii speakers to play if you stay in your town. If you decide you want to go to a friends town you have to get the wii speaker/mic and connect to the internet and give each other your city codes to connect to other cities.

For example, will the game be not as fun if you do not connect to the internet? Could i hook it up to my dsl or would i have to subscribe to an internet provider through wii? Would wireless internet work for this game? I just purchased a wii, and am interested in buying this game so I don't know much about the system yet.

  • A. Wi Fi works great with the Wii and this game. If you don't use the internet then you can't visit or be visited by friends. That would mean that there are some things that won't happen for your game. For instance, the store will only make it's final upgrade if a visitor from another town shops there. But if you don't have a friend who plays the game or has internet nintendo has a way to post your friend code so that other players can find you and visit.

  • A. This game is fun with or without internet. Really you only get one thing from having a wifi connection. If you are connected to the internet then you can go into other players towns who are also connected to the internet, likewise other people can come to your town, given you open your gate (giving permission for people to come to your town.)

  • A. Kristen, You don't have to have internet service to play this game. That is only if you want other people to come visit your town or visit other peoples town. I play the game everyday and have never gone to someone elses town and I still love it to death so does my 17 year old son. Yes, wireless internet would work for you if you wanted to go to someone elses town. Thats something you have to work out with a friend and if you wanted to talk to them you have to get that city folks mic/set up to do that. But playing with just the game is still awesome.

After 8 at night on Saturday, you can head down to Brewster's and listen to K.K. with your friends, or hang out at your friend's town, maybe even get some free items while you're there. However, you can enjoy all the default features without WiFi and it's just as fun!
