This model is so much easier to use than the older model I had. I like the material the pitcher is made from on the new model also. Great job on the design!

I've used this brand of iced tea maker for years. I recently had to replace my old one, which lasted for a few years. I use this almost every day and it works fantastically. I love the new colors this year and would recommend anyone who loves iced tea to order one.

They should show the brewed tea as coming only up to the half-way mark, even if it started full of ice. It is also messy, so set the whole thing on a dishtowel.

I've read the reviews and I must have a deffective one, everytime it leaks everywhere, I make sure I have it below the level and still it leaks, make sure tea bags don't block the hole and still it leaks...any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong...I love it, just can't get it to work right.

I am just buying another of this Mr. Coffee Iced Tea maker for my sister-in-law. I have had mine for about a year and a half now and use it everyday. I have also ordered one for my daughter a few months ago. This makes 3 quarts of iced tea using the pitcher that comes with the iced tea maker. I have experimented with how many tea bags to use and have now settled on 3 keeping it on the strongest setting. I don't add any sugar but I do squeeze in either a lemon or an orange to give it more flavor. I started out using a combination of black tea and various green teas. But now I have switched to using all herbal teas since caffeine has started to bother me. I put in three different flavored tea bags. After using it for about a year, it started shutting off with water still in it. I put some dishwasher cleaner in it and put it through a couple of water only cycles to make sure it was all cleaned out and now it works perfectly again. I noticed what looks like a crack in the bottom of the pitcher which appeared about a month ago but it still doesn't leak. It is quite a good buy at the $20 I paid for it.

  • A. It looks just like the picture on line. It is sort of a marquise shape with squared off edges. The pour spout is nice and large, with a good point so you could pour from it into a water bottle if you want. Hope this helps.

  • A. I have always added sugar or sweetener to the pitchers and never to the machine. The one time I tried to put it in the machine, I was sorely disappointed in the results. I use 1 1/2 cups of sugar or sweetener, depending upon who is drinking the gallon of whatever I am making and it works out fine.

  • A. When I have all the ice pitcher I add the sweetener to the ice and as it melts it just mixes into the tea.

  • A. No it does not have a sweetener chamber. I typically add 1/2 cup of sugar directly to the pitcher, after I add the desired amount of ice cubes. By adding the sugar ontop the ice cubes, it allows the sugar to slowly melt as the tea pours down. Don't forget to stir it well, afterwards :)

I have gallon sized tea bags handy, and was wondering if it's possible to place a different pitcher below the output to take more than 3 quarts. Also, is the fill reservoir basically full with three quarts? This wouldn't be the end of the world if it only takes 3 quarts, just that I'm trying to get away with brewing once a day for two folks. Thanks.

  • A. Try this for a gallon tea bag. It worked for me. Fill unit to its max mark which is not really 3 qts. Put in a new 8-12 cup coffee filter. Cut open tea bag and dump into the filter. Allow to run and empty out water. Pitcher should have no ice in it for this method. Refill unit with more water and run a second time. Pour into a gallon pitcher and fill rest of way with water, add sweetner as desired. It is nice and strong smelling.

  • A. The fill reservoir only holds enough water to make 3 quarts of tea. This is tea concentrate that needs to be diluted with ice or water. I would recommend against using a different pitcher.

  • A. Hi, The resevoir is 3 quarts. So you can only brew three quarts at a time. There is also a basket that holds the tea, and it would only hold enough tea for making 3 quarts. But you could just put your own pitcher under where the drip comes out and remake several times?

  • A. Only if it had that spout that projects out. It has to fit up under the opening to catch the tea as it pours out.

  • A. No, can't use another pitcher as it won't fit into maker. Can't fill more that 3/4 mark on pitcher as the rest will overflow when filling brewer. I have found that tea bags cause overflows. Suggest using loose tea only

  • A. The tea maker has holes on the front and back of it. It will not hold more than 3 qts. of water. Also the maker is made to the hight of the pitcher it comes with, so it will not work with a larger one.

  • A. No I don't think so they are designed to fit together, coupling to would most likely leak everywhere! but you could brew in the pitcher and transfer to another one if you wanted to. I brews fast and I think the pitcher is plenty large enough for 2 but you could make 2 pots in 15 min....

  • A. Try putting more water in it than the water line on the pitcher indicates and be ready to reach for towels. IT is serious about the amount of water to use. IF you want to make more than three quarts at a time of "undiluted" tea, that is, tea made without adding any ice, then before your start the brewing process, just measure out the correct amount of water in another container and after the first brewing process is complete, simply repeat the brewing process. The number or size of tea bags should be varied to suit individual tastes.

  • A. Well you could make the tea with the gallon tea bags as you would for your gallon size (except not a gallon of water into the machine!) and then when the 3 qts are done, just pour it into a gallon size pitcher and add enough water to complete the gallon size. This is an EXCELLENT product and makes such great tasting tea, I love it and would definately recommend it!
