About this item
This collection includes: "Black Fist", "Ma Barker's Killer Brood", "Gangbusters", "Gangster Story", "Gangs, Inc.", "The Chase", "Lady Gangster", "The Four Deuces", "Behave Yourself!" and "Gang Bullets". "Black Fist" - To make a living, Leroy Fisk works as a fighter on the streets of Los Angeles for a local mob boss. Tired of dealing with crooked cops, winos, and small-time hoods, Leroy decides to leave the business behind him and instead open up a club with his winnings. But, when mob retribution brings tragedy to his family, Leroy decides to stop at nothing to get revenge on those responsible. "Ma Barker's Killer Brood" - The story of America's most notorious female gangster of all time is chronicled in this crime drama. In the '30s, Ma Barker (Lurene Tuttle) and her sons terrorized the Midwest, keeping company with some of the most infamous criminals - John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, and Machine Gun Kelly. "Gangbusters" - Based on the radio series of the same name, "Gangbusters" is an episodic documentary-style tale of criminals brought to justice. Veteran screen baddie, Myron Healey, plays John Omar Pinson, a real-life criminal once rated Public Enemy #4. (Black & White) "Gangster Story" - In an uncharacteristic non-comedic role, Walter Matthau plays Jack Martin, a local gangster who wants to start his own crime syndicate in the neighborhood run by Earl Dawson. Eventually, the duo team up and plan a heist in this gritty crime drama. (Black & White) "Gangs, Inc." - Written by former crime reporter Martin Mooney, the story focuses on the efforts of an undercover agent Bob Elliot (John Archer) to get the goods on infamous mobster, Mickey Roma (Jack LaRue). The key to Elliot's investigation is a gorgeous ex-convict whose motivation is to get even with the guy who was responsible for her imprisonment. (Black & White) "The Chase" - Adapted from Cornell Woolrich's "The Black Path of Fear", Robert Cummings stars as Chuck Scott, a shell shocked ex-GI who is hired as a chauffeur for a mobster. Scott falls for the gangster's wife. And, when the two decide to elope and make their way to Havana, the mobster and his bodyguard (Peter Lorre) take off in hot pursuit of the couple. (Black & White) "Lady Gangster" - An aspiring actress' chance association with a gang of robbers leads to her unfortunately taking the fall for the gang's bank heist. But, she ends up making a daring prison break in the hopes of clearing her name and bringing the true criminals to justice. (Black & White) "The Four Deuces" - Vic Morono (Jack Palance) is a mobster with a grudge against rival gangster, Chico Hamilton. But then Morono falls for a young woman and tries everything to end the rivalry and get out of his gang, "The Four Deuces", in time to make a legitimate life for himself and his new love. "Behave Yourself!" - Farley Granger and Shelley Winters are a pair of not-too-bright newlyweds, who adopt a stray pooch named Archie. Although, unbeknownst to them, Archie has been trained as a go-between for a couple of underworld gangs who are trying to wipe each other out... and anyone around them. (Black & White) "Gang Bullets" - A mobster tries to continue his dirty deeds by setting up his usual crooked systems in a new town, but finds the legal force incorruptible. (Black & White).
