Using a Walmart Gift Card at Walmart.com
Using a Walmart Gift Card online at Walmart.com is simple:
If your order total is less than the amount on your Walmart Gift Card, the remaining amount will be available on your card for future purchases.
If your order total is more than the amount on your Walmart Gift Card, you will need to pay for the balance with additional Walmart Gift Cards or a credit card.
How Quickly You Can Use Your Walmart Gift Card
For most Gift Cards, there is no activation process required for using your Walmart Gift Card.
For Gift Cards that were purchased as a part of an order of 25 or more cards, or if the total value of the cards in the order was over $250, then the original purchaser will need to activate the cards before they can be used. An email with activation instructions is sent to the original purchaser.

Where to Use a Walmart Gift Card
Walmart Plastic Gift Card
You can use a Walmart plastic Gift Card that has a PIN at any Walmart store and online at Walmart.com. Sam's Club members can also use a Walmart plastic Gift Card that has a PIN at any Sam's Club store location in the United States as well as online at Samsclub.com. If your card does not have a PIN, you can use it only in a Walmart store or Sam's Club.
Walmart eGift Card
You can use a Walmart eGift Card at Walmart.com, and Sam's Club members can also use it online at Samsclub.com.
PIN Numbers
A PIN is a personal identification number that is unique to your Walmart Gift Card. It is located on the back of your Walmart plastic Gift Card in the bottom right corner under the silver scratch-off area.
Buying Items That Cost More or Less Than the Card Amount
If your order total is less than the amount on your Walmart Gift Card, the remaining amount will be available on your card for future purchases.
If your order total is more than the amount on your Walmart Gift Card, you will need to pay for the balance with additional Walmart Gift Cards or a credit card.
Location of Card Number and PIN
Your card number and PIN are located on the back of your Walmart plastic Gift Card under the silver scratch-off area. If you have a Walmart eGift Card, your card number and PIN were located in the email we sent you when your Walmart eGift Card was first received.
Storing Gift Card Information in Your Account
You can save up to five Walmart Gift Cards in your account at any given time.
Storing Walmart Gift Card information is a convenient time-saver. You don't have to re-enter the Walmart Gift Card number and PIN when redeeming the card. This information is securely saved in your account, making your Walmart Gift Cards available for selection when you are paying for an order.
To save a Walmart Gift Card, follow these easy steps:
If You Don't Have a PIN
For your security, we can accept only cards with a PIN. You can find your PIN on the back of your card in the bottom right corner under the silver scratch-off area. If you have a Walmart eGift Card, your card number and PIN were located in the email we sent you.
If you have a plastic Gift Card that doesn't have a PIN, you can use it at a store but you cannot use it online at Walmart.com. You can also trade it in for a new card with a PIN at any local Walmart store or Sam's Club in the United States.
Paying With More Than One Walmart Gift Card
If you would like to use more than one Walmart Gift Card to pay for your purchase, simply click "Use a Walmart Gift Card" during checkout. Once you have entered the first card, you will see it appear on your Purchase Summary, and you can click "Use Another Walmart Gift Card" and enter up to four Walmart Gift Cards per order.
If You Don't Have a Password
If you placed an order for Walmart plastic Gift Cards that is equal to or greater than 25 cards or $250, you should have received a password in the activation email that was sent when your order was shipped. If you cannot find this email, or did not receive one, please email Walmart.com Customer Service and an associate will be happy to help you.
Walmart Gift Card Returns and Refunds
Walmart Gift Cards are not returnable or refundable for cash except in states where required by law. If you decide to return merchandise that you purchased using your Walmart Gift Card, the refunded amount will be credited directly back to your Walmart Gift Card.
Please do not throw away your Walmart plastic Gift Card unless you are sure of your purchase, and make certain you save the Walmart eGift Card email.
Activating a Walmart Gift Card
For your security, we will require you to activate any Walmart plastic Gift Cards purchased in an order of 25 cards and/or $250 or more. You will receive an email with a password that you can use to activate the cards following these steps:
All cards in the order will then be active and can be used in any Walmart store or online at Walmart.com. Sam's Club members can also use the cards at any Sam's Club store location in the United States as well as online at Samsclub.com.

You can check the balance of a Walmart Gift Card either online or in the store.

Lost or Stolen Gift Card
If your Gift Card is lost or stolen, immediately call customer service at 1-800-411-7942. Your Gift Card will be cancelled and we will issue a new one with the remaining balance. Lost or stolen Gift Cards cannot be replaced without the original receipt. If the lost or stolen Gift Card had an automatic reload set-up, it is solely your responsibility to cancel the scheduled reloads. Walmart.com and its affiliates shall have no liability to you for (i) lost or stolen Gift Cards or your failure to cancel any scheduled Gift Card reloads or (ii) use of any Gift Cards by third parties through your Walmart.com account. You are solely responsible for keeping the password for your Walmart.com account safe and for any activity conducted under your account.
