Shipping Methods

For Items Purchased from a Walmart Marketplace Retailer
If the seller of an item is anyone other than "Walmart.com," then that item is being sold by one of our Marketplace Retailers.

Each Marketplace Retailer sets its own shipping methods and times. Most Marketplace Retailers will offer Standard, Expedited Shipping and 1-Day Shipping, but these options will vary by retailer and by product. Site to Store shipping is not available for Marketplace Retailers.

For Items Purchased from Walmart.com

We offer these shipping methods for most items:

  • Standard Shipping (3 to 7 business days)
  • Expedited Shipping (2 to 3 business days)
  • Rush Shipping (1 business day)

Some items can also be shipped using our free Site to Store® service (5 to 8 business days).

Site to Store will appear as a shipping method on the product details page if the item is eligible for this method.

Please note: Shipping times do not include processing time (most in-stock items generally take 1-2 days to process).

Split Shipments

Due to varying item availability and warehouse locations, your items may be shipped separately when you place an order for multiple items. We will not charge you extra for split shipments.

The invoice you receive with your order will tell you which items have been shipped separately, and you can use Track Your Orders to see if the rest of your order is on its way.

If your shipment(s) arrives and you still have questions about items missing from your order, please contact us and one of our Customer Service Associates will be happy to help you.

Heavy or Oversize Items

Shipping time: Oversize items will be shipped by a freight company. They will arrive approximately 5 to 8 business days after leaving the warehouse at which point you will be contacted to schedule a delivery appointment.

Shipping cost: Oversize items have a special shipping cost. You will see your actual shipping cost during checkout.

Delivery process: The freight company will contact you in advance to schedule a delivery date and time. Certain items include delivery into your home, but for most freight deliveries, the item will be left at the curbside of your address - any additional options, such as delivering the item indoors, may require payment of additional fees. We recommend that you have at least one other person available to help you move your item to its final location.

It will be noted in the Shipping & Delivery section on the product details page if an item qualifies for this service.

Before you sign for the delivery, please inspect the package for any damage that may have occurred during transit. It is normal for the package to show some wear. However, if there is visible damage to the package contents, refuse delivery of the order and contact contact us. Please have your order number available.

Delivery of oversize items is limited to street addresses in the 48 contiguous states. Oversize items cannot be shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, military APO / FPO addresses, or U.S. protectorates and territories.

Perishable Items

Perishable items cannot be returned by mail. If you receive a damaged or defective perishable item, please email the following information to Walmart.com Customer Service:

  • Order number for the item
  • Date of arrival
  • Condition of item at time of arrival
  • Detailed explanation of the issue

Shipping Regulated Materials

Due to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety restrictions, items that contain regulated or hazardous materials cannot be shipped by air (Priority or Express). These restricted items are usually identified on the product details page (they can also generally be found in the popup window that appears when you click "Estimated arrival date" on the product details page). They typically fall into one of two categories:

  • Aerosol products in pressurized spray cans
  • Products that contain flammable, volatile or corrosive chemicals

Shipping to a Different Address

You can keep multiple addresses in your account so that you can ship packages to your home, to work or to someone else. If you are purchasing a gift for someone, you can send it directly to the recipient.

During checkout, when you get to the Select Shipping Options page, click Change Address to add a new destination to your Address Book. Each time you check out, you can simply choose from your stored addresses.

Once you've completed checkout, we cannot reroute your order or change your shipping address. This is to ensure the security of your order.

Types of Email Confirmations

1. Confirmation Email
You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of placing an order. If you paid by credit card, and your credit card was approved, this email will confirm your order. Otherwise, it will notify you that the credit card failed and will give you instructions on how to resubmit your payment. Once your order ships, your credit card will be charged, and a shipment confirmation email will be sent.

2. Shipment Email
You will receive an email to notify you when your order ships. This email will include an estimated arrival date. If the order is fulfilled in multiple shipments, you will receive one shipment confirmation email per package.

3. Site to Store Pickup Email
If you selected Site to Store as your shipping method, you will receive an email when your order arrives at the store and is ready for pickup. If you ordered multiple items, they may arrive in separate shipments on different days. If this is the case, you will receive an email for each part of your order as it arrives.

Where Orders Can Be Delivered

Within the U.S. and Major U.S. Protectorates
Most items can be shipped to all states, including Alaska and Hawaii, plus the following major U.S. protectorates and territories: American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Please note: Shipping charges for deliveries to Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. protectorates and territories will be higher to cover higher shipping and handling costs. Promotional shipping rates, including 97-Cent Shipping, do not apply to deliveries to these locations. You will see the actual shipping charges during checkout, after you select the delivery address.

APO / FPO Military Addresses
Orders can be shipped to APO / FPO military addresses. However, please be aware of the following:

  • Not all items can be shipped to APO / FPO addresses. These items are clearly identified on the product details page and during checkout (you can also view this information when you click "Estimated arrival date" on the product details page).
  • When shipping to an APO / FPO address, delivery may take 3 to 6 weeks.
  • Further restrictions on item type, size and weight may exist in the country in which the APO / FPO address is located. Some merchandise may not be deliverable to these countries. Please contact your local post office to verify item type, size and weight restrictions for the country in which your APO / FPO address is located.
  • Items will be shipped by Standard Delivery and you will see the actual shipping charges during checkout, after you select the delivery address.

Except as noted above, orders cannot be shipped to Canada or other destinations outside the U.S.

Shipping to Your Workplace

We recommend using your workplace address as your shipping destination. There are a number of benefits:

  • Convenience: you won't need to be at home to accept a delivery, nor will you need to retrieve your package from the carrier's location
  • Privacy: helps keep gifts a secret
  • Security: packages won't be left unattended
  • Safety: packages won't be left out where they can be damaged by bad weather or outdoor pets
  • Time savings: receive packages directly and personally
  • Positive environmental impact: carriers are delivering to your office anyway ? this saves them from driving to your home as well

Please check your office policy to see if personal deliveries are permitted, then consider shipping your next order to your workplace address.
