Reload Function Overview
The reload function allows you to conveniently add money to any Walmart Gift Card. Before you can reload a Gift Card, you must add it to your Walmart.com account. Once it is saved, you can choose to make a one-time reload or set up automatic reloads. One-time reloads are single transactions, while the automatic reload option lets you add money on a recurring basis according to the settings of your choice.
To reload your Walmart Gift Card, follow these quick steps:
To reload your Gift Card, go to My Gift Cards.
First-Time Reload of Your Walmart Gift Card
It's easy to enable the reload function for your Walmart Gift Card, and you only have to enable it one time. Once completed, the Gift Card reload function will be applied to any other Walmart Gift Cards you currently have saved, along with any you may save in the future.
To enable reloads, follow these steps:
To enable reloads, go to My Gift Cards.
One-Time Reload
A one-time reload allows you to add money quickly and easily to your Walmart Gift Card.
To make a one-time Gift Card reload, follow these steps:
To make a one-time reload, go to My Gift Cards.
Please note: If you have a card that's already set up for automatic reloads, you can also make one-time reloads anytime you wish. Making one-time reloads to the card will not affect its auto-reload settings, which will remain the same.
Setting Up an Automatic Reload
Setting up an automatic reload allows you to add money to your Walmart Gift Card on a regular basis. (For example, if you have a school-age child with a regular allowance, you can use a Walmart Gift Card's automatic reload feature to automatically add their weekly allowance to the card.)
To set up an automatic Gift Card reload, follow these steps:
To set up an automatic reload, go to My Gift Cards.
Please note: For Walmart Gift Cards, the minimum reload amount is $10.00 and the maximum balance is $1,000.00.
For example, if your preference is set to "Load exact amount of $50.00 every week", but your balance is $975.00, the reload attempt would be canceled because the resulting balance would be over $1,000.00. As soon as the balance drops to $950.00 or less, your automatic reloads would resume.
Suspending an Automatic Reload
Checking the box marked "Temporarily suspend my automatic reload settings" will pause your automatic reloads without deleting your settings. (For example, if you are going out of town and wish to stop the reloads while you go on vacation, you can suspend the automatic reloads until you return home.)
To suspend your auto-reloads, just check the box and click Submit.
To end a suspension, just uncheck the same box and click Submit. Your automatic reloads will resume according to your previous settings.
Stopping / Ending an Automatic Reload
When setting up an automatic reload, entering an end date is optional. This means that your automatic Gift Card reload will continue until you decide to stop it. If you would like to end an automatic reload, but did not initially set an end date, please follow these steps:
To end an automatic reload, go to My Gift Cards.
Please note: The automatic reload settings for this card will be erased when the end date is reached. If you would prefer to save your settings for use at a later time, please see the Suspending an Automatic Reload option outlined above.
