Order Refills Online

You can refill prescriptions by accessing your Pharmacy account online. Signing up for online access makes it easy to order and manage prescriptions from home.

Once you have online access to your Pharmacy account, you can order new refills quickly and easily:

  1. Select the check box to the left of the prescription you'd like to refill. (You can select up to 7 prescriptions to refill.)
  2. Click Proceed to Checkout.
  3. Follow the prompts to have your refills held at any Walmart Pharmacy or shipped to your home.
  4. If you're having your order shipped, enter a payment method.
  5. You'll have an opportunity to review your order.
  6. Click Place Order.

You'll receive an email order confirmation.

Prescriptions are listed by the date each one was last refilled, and the most recent refill requests are listed first, for the past 24 months. Click "Order Details" in the left column to find information on a specific prescription.

Order Refills on Walmart Mobile

You can refill prescriptions with the Walmart Mobile app. Here's how:

  1. Download and install the version created for your smart phone.
  2. Select Pharmacy.
  3. Select Refill Prescriptions.
  4. Sign into your account.

You can then select the prescriptions you want to refill as well as your pickup and shipping options, just like you do on the full Walmart.com site.

Order Refills with a Prescription Label

Online

You can refill a prescription online as long as you have a Walmart.com account and you know the prescription number and store number.

Drop off

If you have your paper prescription and you'd like to pick up your filled prescription from your local Walmart Pharmacy, use our store finder to find your preferred location and take your prescription label there. Refills can be filled the same day, even within a few hours, depending on how busy your Pharmacy is.

Call in

You can also refill a prescription by calling the number on your prescription label and using our automated voice system to refill your prescription. Provide your prescription number and select the time you'd like to pick up your prescription.

Refill Without Prescription Label

If you no longer have your prescription label, you can use our store finder to find the number of the Pharmacy where your prescription was filled and follow the automated voice prompts to speak with a pharmacist or go to your local Walmart Pharmacy.

Have Your Doctor Call In Refills

Sometimes your doctor can call in or fax your refill to the pharmacist, saving you a trip to the Pharmacy. If you know before visiting your doctor that you'll need a refill, ask your doctor to call in your prescription to your local Walmart Pharmacy. Use our store finder to find the phone number of the Walmart Pharmacy nearest you.

Refilling a Prescription Online for Someone Else

To use all of the online Pharmacy features, each Walmart Pharmacy patient must sign up for online access to their Walmart Pharmacy account under their own individual Walmart.com account.

Parents and Caregivers: You can refill prescriptions for another Walmart Pharmacy customer by signing in to that customer's Pharmacy online account. If the person hasn't signed up for online access to their Walmart Pharmacy account, you can quickly sign up for them and then order their refills. Once you are signed in, follow the instructions to order refills online.

Refilling Expired Prescriptions

If you've requested a refill that has expired or has run out of refills, our pharmacist will attempt to call your doctor to get authorization to extend the prescription. Please allow one extra business day for your refill while the pharmacist attempts to contact your doctor.

If you need your prescription sooner, please call your doctor directly and ask to have your refill authorization called in to your Walmart Pharmacy.

Expired prescriptions cannot be transferred to another Walmart Pharmacy.

Setting Up Automatic Refills

To set up Automatic Refills for one of your prescriptions, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Walmart.com account.
  2. Access your Walmart Pharmacy account by providing the answer to your security question.
  3. Select "Auto Refills" on the left side of the Pharmacy Account main page in the Pharmacy Tools section.
  4. Click Set Up next to the medication you want automatically refilled.
  5. On the confirmation screen, review the details of your order and click Confirm.

You can also start by clicking the link mentioned in step 3 and sign in when you are prompted.

The exact timing and frequency of the refills will be determined by the pharmacist based on your doctor's instructions and any third-party billing requirements.

Some Prescriptions Cannot Be Refilled Automatically

To set up Automatic Refills for one of your prescriptions, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Walmart.com account.
  2. Access your Walmart Pharmacy account by providing the answer to your security question.
  3. Select "Auto Refills" on the left side of the Pharmacy Account main page in the Pharmacy Tools section.
  4. Click Set Up next to the medication you want automatically refilled.

How Medication Reminders Work

If you chose to receive a Medication Reminder for a prescription, you will automatically be notified when your refills are about to run out based on frequency and dates you select.

Setting up Medication Reminders

If you have signed up to access your Pharmacy online account, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Walmart.com account if you haven't already.
  2. Access your Walmart Pharmacy account by answering your security question.
  3. Select "Medication Reminders" under Pharmacy Tools on the Pharmacy main page.
  4. Click Set Up Reminders next to the prescription you want reminders for.
  5. Choose a start date and the frequency with which you?d like to receive reminders.
  6. If you choose recurring messages, select an end date.
  7. You can write a reminder message to yourself as well.
  8. Click Save Reminder when you are done.

Cancel or Change a Refill Reminder

On the Medication Reminders page, there is a list of your active Reminders. Just click "Cancel" to cancel a reminder or Edit to make changes to it.

Refills Outside Your Automatic Refill Cycle

You can request a single out-of-cycle refill on a prescription that is set up for Automatic Refills. Contact your Walmart pharmacist for details.

Tip: It's a good idea to re-verify your Automatic Refill schedule with the pharmacist when you pick up an out-of-cycle refill to ensure there are not issues with insurance or other third-party billing.

Find the Name of One of Your Medications

If you have signed up to access your Pharmacy account online, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Walmart.com account if you haven't already.
  2. Access your Walmart Pharmacy account by answering your security question.
  3. Select "View Status & History" on the left side of the page.

You can also start by clicking the link mentioned in step 3 and sign in when you are prompted.

If you haven't signed up to access your Pharmacy online account, you'll need to call your pharmacist to find the actual name of a drug.

Find Information on the Last Prescription You Refilled

The prescriptions you"ve refilled online are located in the View Status & History page. If you"ve signed up to access your Pharmacy online account, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Walmart.com account if you haven't already.
  2. Access your Walmart Pharmacy account by answering your security question.
  3. Select "View Status & History" on the left side of the page.

You can also start by clicking the link mentioned in step 3 and sign in when you are prompted.

Here, you can sort your prescriptions by drug name or by the date each one was last refilled, and the most recent refill requests are listed first. Click "View Details" in the left column to find information on a specific prescription.

If have not signed up to access your Pharmacy account online, you'll need to call your pharmacist to find the information on your last prescription filled.

Find Your Prescription Number and Expiration Date

Your prescription number is on the prescription label from the last fill. It's a 7-digit number located on the left side, near the top of the label. The expiration date is at the bottom of your prescription's label. It's usually listed as part of the available refills information. For example, it may say "REFILL: 2 by 08/30/2013." This means there are two refills left, and the last refill must be ordered before 8/30/2013.

Maximum Number of Refills per Order

You can submit up to 7 refills in each order. If you need to refill more than 7 prescriptions, you'll need to place multiple orders.

Order a Refill for Someone Else

Parents and Caregivers: To use all of the online Pharmacy features, each Walmart Pharmacy patient must have an individual Pharmacy online account set up under an individual Walmart.com account.

You can refill prescriptions for another Walmart Pharmacy customer by signing in to that customer's Walmart.com account and accessing their Pharmacy account.

If the person doesn't have online access to their Pharmacy account, you can sign in to your own account and select "Refill for someone else" on the refill form. You'll be able to enter the prescription and store number of any prescription they have filled at a Walmart Pharmacy.

Notification When Your Automatic Refill Is Ready

An email will be sent to you when each refill order is ready to be picked up. You will not be charged until you pick up the prescription. Your Walmart pharmacist will contact you if there are any problems with a prescription.

How the Prescription Expiration Notification Works

If you choose to receive the Prescription Expiration Notification, we'll send you an email whenever one of your Walmart Pharmacy prescriptions is nearing its expiration date.
