How a Money Transfer works
Walmart partners with MoneyGram to bring you a money transfer service with locations all over the world. Just pay in your local store and select the MoneyGram agent location or Walmart store that is most convenient for the recipient. The transaction is processed and the money is available at the recipient's location. Transfers can be sent via Same Day or Overnight service.
Who can do a Money Transfer
In stores, anyone can transfer money - no bank account or credit card required. You will have to verify your identity when sending money, so remember to have your official identification information handy.
Where you can send money
For in-store service, MoneyGram has 190,000 agent locations in 190 countries and territories, including all Walmart stores in the U.S. Just ask an associate in the MoneyCenter or at the Customer Service desk to find an agent location closest where you want to send money.
Money Transfer fees and service levels
In Store, money transfer fees start at $4.75 - the amount of the fee varies by the speed of service you select, the location you send to, and the amount of money you send. Your local Walmart store offers Same Day or Overnight service. Overnight is a special service available between Walmart stores - the cash will be at the Walmart location you choose after 7 a.m. the next day.
