Basic mac 'n' cheese is great all by itself, but try some add-ins to make it a balanced one-dish meal.
Go Italian deluxe
Use rotini pasta, 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning, Italian cheeseblend for the cheese, and top with 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs. Bake at 325 degrees F for 25 minutes or until golden and gooey.
Go South of the border
Use small or medium shells, 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, Mexican cheese blend for the cheese, and stir in 1 cup of Great Value Salsa. Bake at 325 degrees F for 25 minutes or until bubbly and melty.
Turn a side into a meal
Add ham, bacon or ground beef...and/or vegetables such as peas, broccoli, corn or tomatoes. Use your imagination to mix and match!
Hints for making it healthier
Use Great Value Whole-Wheat Elbows, low-fat cheese, and skim milk.
