Roy Scheider stars as Hassan, the cold blooded "Red Serpent," head of a powerful drug cartel. Hassan controls drug trade in Moscow, a city without law and ripe with crime, Steve Nichols (Michael Pare), an American on a routine business trip, soon falls victim to a deadly smuggling scheme. Hassan wants to export drugs in Steve Nichols' containers and to ensure his cooperation he kidnaps Nichols' daughter. Only with the help of Sergei (Oleg Taktarov), a washed up KGB Agent with an old score to settle, can Steve square off against the "Red Serpent." In a heart stopping battle for survival, Steve and Sergei find Steve's daughter and bring down the ruthless "Red Serpent.".
