Rated 5 out of 5 by PapaRico Great little air compressor
I purchased this to use with a model airbrush. It has more psi than my airbrush can handle, but I just stop it at my desired psi and it works great. No more buying canned air. Five cans cost as much as this compressor does. Its worth buying it!
Rated 5 out of 5 by Twerkel good product
Very easy to use, lightweight very easy to carry for someone like me who is disabled. Already recommended this product.
Rated 4 out of 5 by HandyManplus Good for the money.
Its a liitle bit loud but for the price works pretty good. I use it for nail guns and this will even push my framing nailer. It just refills very slow for such a small tank. All in all - good.
Rated 4 out of 5 by gosheking good for air guns
i bought this product to use it with a constant flow of air using blow airgun but i think the tank is too small for blowing. within one minute the pressure drops to about 0 to 5 psi. it works like a charm with 100 psi but because i needed constant pressure i couldnt get out of this air compressor. it will work fine with brad kind nailers and staplers, will work great to inflate tires and so forth. Not a bad product but for heavy duty jobs buy atleast a 10 gallons tank
Rated 4 out of 5 by RSPdp Great for small inflation/reinflation jobs.
This was a gift for a female friend who has need to inflate/reinflate many small pneumatic tires (i.e; bikes, garden carts, snowblower and etc.). It is very portable and does an excellent job on small tires. Inflating car or truck tires takes longer because of the weight of the vehicle. The tank capacity in fine for short/intermittent use. Large jobs require the tank to frequently replenish itself. It would have been nicer if the manufacturer provided an attachment quick disconnect and a tire pressure guage.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Olfthfl Short life
I purchased this product a little over a year ago and it worked great the 3 or 4 times I used it to add air to my car tires but it has now completely quit working. I've checked the fuse and everything else possible but to no avail. I have heard similar complaints from other users. Their products just don't last. Will not buy from this manufacturer again,
Rated 1 out of 5 by DuhYouGetWhatYouPayFor Poor quality
I had this compressor for about a year. It worked great for filling the tires in both of my cars. At about the one year mark, it just stopped working. I thought maybe it was just a fuse, but there isn't one. The manual says either the power switch or pressure vavle is defective. It was a great product at a great price while it lasted. Unfortuneately it does not last too long. Thumbs down on this product.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Lisa425 Works great for Airbrushing
I bought this air compressor because I didn't want to continue to buy compressed air cans which are very expensive. I only need about 25-30 psi for my airbrush, and I found this compressor works fantastic. It only takes about 30 seconds for it to reach the amount of pressure I need, and then I turn it off to avoid over presurizing my equipment.
I noticed it is VERY LOUD, so I dont recommend it if you live in a small apartment, and want to save face with your neighbors. But, if your looking for value, and you enjoy airbrushing, this is a great deal at only $55.
Rated 1 out of 5 by HomeRepairs Worked less than 2 years
I only used the air compressor to top off the tires on my car and light truck. It stopped working just after the one year warranty ran out.
I would not buy anything from this manufacturer again.
Rated 1 out of 5 by ironhawk Very POOR
I would not even give this Air Compressor to my worse ENEMY. I was pumping up a tire when it stoped running. If i had my receipt for this thing i would bring it back.by the way this was the first time i used it
Rated 3 out of 5 by gsnoorky Cheapest A/C unit available, period....
I would recommend this product only if one is really short of "scratch." Considering what it is, it's OK, I suppose. One thing--it may be better than any small car DC (cigarette lighter socket) unit if you have a strong enough power inverter to run it on AC. That would help better with flats, I think.
(The DC units run really intensely, so, frustratingly, they always die relatively quickly--they don't depend upon filling a relatively large tank, so, they do continuously put out air, however; this thing doesn't put out much air unless the tank fills at least somewhat.)
I have to be patient with constantly recycling the unit. When, I purchased this some years ago, I had never owned an A/C air compressor, so I didn't expect that--I was disappointed, as I'm sure many others here have been. I do use it for tire inflation, but I have to recycle somewhat often.
This thing is not good for much of anything except inflation, tedious blowing, and excessively loud noise! (It includes a basketball needle, a coiled-type hose, and toy inflation nozzles). I think that the company mentions using it with paint guns, but that's likely not, in the least minor way, practical.....
So, I purchased some blower tools, soon after purchase, along with a water-removing reservoir, fittings, and a better hose, all at Wal-Mart.
I also use the item, in place of expensive, hated, under-filled compressed-air cans, for blowing away dust from PCs and electronics. Diligently, I avoid using cans, except for really close or delicate work, so, very patiently, I wait for many cycles. It's been worth it to me, yet now I'm looking for something bigger and better than this. (I'm very glad I purchased the air tools, etc., nevertheless)
As for those people who say it never fills up or it never stops, that could certainly be defective leak of some kind, yet, have they tightened the valve on the bottom of the tank? This valve always appears something like this on "pancake" air compressors (models shaped like this), and, it's intended for draining water that condenses out of the air to the bottom of the tank (the air compression causes far colder air inside the tank--as with refrigeration). Conceivably, this water, if not bled off, could cause the inside of the tank to rust and the tank even to fail later(?!).....
Sometimes, I've noted a little water inside the tank and, less often, my Campbell-Hausfeld water-removing tool's reservoir. (This is a hose tool that I attach to the hose before blower tools; it uses a plastic container that may be unscrewed and emptied.) The air has to be really moist, or condensation is negligible....
I don't really regret this purchase--it saved me a lot of money, and I have some useful tools--(I wonder now about PSI limits on those, however). And, I gained a little knowledge.
I include some photos of the air-dryer/blower-gun/fitting assembly which I use for blowing out dust with this compressor. All these I obtained at Wal-Mart. I consider these relevant to this review of this product and those of competing models....
Fittings are so helpful with air compressors and accessories that they're rarely mentioned--they're virtually essential if one uses the devices frequently! They're great in that world!
Rated 5 out of 5 by smallcity excellent product
I bought this compressor over a year ago. I love it. It does everything required of it. I air bicycle and car tires. I not only air my tires, but my neighbor uses it for his. I use it for children's toys as well as blowing up the easy set swimming pool. I have other adapters for cleaning coils on the refrigerator and the a.c. unit. I have no complaints. This is a very portable, useful product, and I recommend it to everyone with small jobs.
Rated 1 out of 5 by jameshd Didn't work
I bought it specifically to inflate tires on my car so I don't have to go the the service station. Followed all the instructions in the manual, put it together, let it run until it shut off automatically, tried to inflate a tire. It didn't work. Tried several times with the same lack of success. Tried a different tire and it still didn't work for inflating tires. Went to the local service station and had no problem inflating both tires. It would probably work for inflating balls, etc., but not what I bought it for. Next step it to return it the next time I get into town.
Rated 4 out of 5 by fireman67 what you see is what you get
This small compressor definately lives up to its billing. For a person with limited space and limited expectations, it does everything its supposed to do. Yes, its noisey, but then most compressors are. The real +'s are that it has dual guages and a built in, easy to use regulator which works well with an air brush. Because of the small tank, you need to get an air gun with a small nozzle that will give you high pressure w/o much volume. Also, an extra 25' coiled hose and quick diconnects are helpful. All in all, the unit is light, seems to be well made and does the job intended as long as you do not expect too much from it. Just be sure to follow included instructions. One other thing; an air chuck that locks onto air valve is helpful as it take some time to fill tires.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Suzanne130 Great for our needs
Overall rating was a 4-star because the compressor didn't come with a gun attachment; one must purchase that separately. However, the value was 5 stars because we were able to get a $20 rebate, which more than paid for the attachment. We don't have heavy-duty needs for this compressor and use it mainly for electronic maintanence and inflating the occasional mower and bike tire. The 1-gallon capacity suits us just fine.
Rated 1 out of 5 by oledogblue wife bought this for me year and a half ago and it still does not work i can not get it to hold air i have tryed everthing ,,, every thing the book said and it still does not work and of course i have had it to long to take back but i would not buy this thing again and do i have compresser,, no i do not do i need one yes i do,,,
poor ole guy with no compersser
Rated 1 out of 5 by bensbogusbongos Not big enough
Got this one gallon version for xmas. This pix doesn't show it but it comes with Regulator as well which is nice. Went to leave for a road trip and the car tires were low. The 1 gallon tank was full but it wasn't any where near enough to add air to the car tires.....So I'm going for either the 3 or the 6 gallon one. Also they have a 7 gallon air tank for $30 but I figured it would take for ever for the little pump to fill it up so i'm just going to upgrade.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Rob2764 Noise Compressor
This Air compressor never work and was noisy. It has indications on how to break in but I never found the Knob. Returned and will try something different and better
Rated 2 out of 5 by DataDitto Noisey!
I just bought it. I use it to pump up small tires on our ranch atv's. This is a daily chore and the little compressor works well and saves time. But holy cow, it is so loud that I can't stay in the barn if the compressor is running. The only good thing, the noise is so bad I won't forget to turn it off, ever! I hope it gets over its screaming fits soon. My big compressor takes forever to build up pressure, but makes much less noise. Don't buy this thing if you want to work with it located nearby. Because of the noise, I couldn't give a high rating.
Rated 4 out of 5 by ScottinMO Great tool for the money spent.
I saw this same unit in a hardware store for $30 more than Walmart's price. I bought it to run a nailer/stapler and it works great. It is a bit noisier than I expected, but that isn't a deal breaker for me for the price. It has a regulator, so you can adjust the output pressure to your air tool's requirements, or set it to the proper inflation pressure for airing up a tire. When you buy one, go ahead and spend a few bucks and get a roll of teflon tape and some brass quick connects for your hose and tools. Walmart also sells those and they aren't expensive. Trust me, you will go back and get them later if you don't. Just FYI, I strongly recommend it for the Campbell Hausfeld SB504000 18 Gauge 2-in-1 Nailer Stapler.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Wolfsunfire Good compressor for a good price
It's a good product for the price. Didn't come with the connectors I'd have wanted for the hose, but for what it is, I'd recommend it. Small and good for light jobs, but not the big ones.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Menace2Society For the money it is great.
My total cost was just over $70.00 with all taxes & shipping. It arrived within a week and was very easy to set up. I did buy a 17 piece accessory kit for less than $8.00 from Harbor Freight to go along with this compressor. It has been great so far. I had a totally flat tire on my Chevy Lumina and it pumped it up in less than a minute to 34 PSI. In the HF accessory package there is an air nozzle that I have with quick connect coupling. I use it to blow away sawdust from my scroll saw. Works great. I have a pistol grip nozzle also that works great for cleaning hard to get to things like carburetors etc. It holds the 110 PSI in the tank for at least two days without bleeding off. After the initial hold test I drain the tank every time I know I won't use it for a day. My only complaints are the coiled hose and it is really noisy. When the cheap plastic coiled hose breaks I have twenty five feet of new 1/4" high pressure line with quick connections ready to go. The noise I dealt with by placing the unit under an overturned box. That helped. I have a small air brush I will use when I get the noise issue resolved. With the HF accessory kit this is a fantastic compressor for small jobs.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cabinetmaker67 Wow is this thing loud! I purchased it to replace my deceased Delta C200 for use with an airbrush. I would compare the noise difference as that between a cricket and a jet engine.
Yes, I understand that air compressors are loud, I have two 80 gallon compressors in my cabinet shop, but an oil-free compressor is supposed to be much quieter than is this unit.
I will be returning it to Walmart and searching for another Delta C200
Rated 1 out of 5 by Coppercity Junk! Ear Plugs Needed!
I own and run a small computer repair firm, and bought this blow dust out of PC case's. Out of the box it looks nice and feels well built. But it all go's down hill from there, When you plug it in the noise it makes is out of this world I was searching for my ear plugs. Not good for an office setting but thought ok it's noisy, I may be able to hide it somewhere. Then I quickly found out it runs out of air before I even got half a PC case done. Not worth it, even for free..... STAY AWAY
Rated 1 out of 5 by TwistaX Loud/Cheap (not good for airbrushing)
I bought this compressor about 2 months ago. Yes it pushes air and has a nice regulator on it. However, this darn thing is LOUD. Has to be above 110Db. Thats horrible for your ears, and soul especially when trying to focus on art(airbrushing)
After a few months of use, I notice that it started to squeel and even seem to slow down during compression, so i had to put a few drops of oil in the piston to keep it from ceasing.
This compressor is good for TINY jobs such as airing up balls. Otherwise... dont be cheap and spend money on a bigger, quieter air compressor... unless you want to go def..
Patiently waiting on my GMC ultra quiet compressor from Sears (YAY!).
Rated 5 out of 5 by krayonmom Product is ok
This item works for small air compression. Product is as described and I recommend this for small uses.
Rated 4 out of 5 by DistinguishedMarksman Good for light use
I bought this for use at my reloading bench. It powers an airgun adequately, but is a bit small for tire inflation and such. Overall, I'd say it is worth the money. I wish it came with a blowgun with a shut off valve to conserve pressure.
Rated 4 out of 5 by KCRider Good Pruduct for the price
I purchased this unit just a few days ago so I have little history with it but so far on the first project it was used on it worked very well. I bought it to power my pneumatic nail gun and my pneumatic stapler, it builds more than adequate pressure to power both. However, the small size of the air reservoir will likely mean frequent cycling on repeated use of tools.
The downside is that the unit is VERY noisy during operation.
Rated 5 out of 5 by GibsonBoy Campbell Hausfeld 1 Gallon Air Compressor
I waited about six months to review this compressor to see how it held up.
So far a very good buy.Works well for my needs and hope to get many years out of it.
For the price I would recommend this compressor.
Rated 4 out of 5 by rx8r3 No Problems
Have had for near 2 years and all is well. I keep it in the garage for lawn mower tires. It is also good to fill up and take it outside if needed to inflate a tire on a car. Mind you it will only fill one car tire. It always works and comes with all that you need for small jobs. P.S. This thing may be the loudest compressor in the world.
