Rated 5 out of 5 by Great P:ot! Bought the smaller version of this pot on-line after looking at the 6-qt. in a Wal-Mart store. The day it was received I cooked a 3 lb. roast with potatoes, carrots and onions in the same pot, then made gravy from what was left. Pot perfomed wonderfully. Even heating, nice searing ability for the meat, and kept the roast and vegetables at just the right simmer for the time required. Two days later, used the pot to make a gumbo--great results. Within the same week, used the pot three more times. It has become my favorite. Wife used it to make chicken and dumplings the next week, made bean soup in it two days later. It's a great pot. Now considering getting the 6-qt. Pot cooks well, cleans easily and is attractive. Thanks Lodge (and Wal-Mart for a great pot at a reasonable price. We also have some Le Creuset cast iron that is much, much more expensive, but does not perform any better. 10/11/2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Kitchen Addition This Dutch Oven is made by "LODGE" -- a company that my mother always considered to be one of the finest makers of cookware. The price on this particular Dutch Oven was the best I could find anywhere -- plus... I liked the ease of ordering and having the product shipped FREE to my local Wal-Mart store. Looking at the style & workmanship, I am delighted with this item -- the only reason I gave it 4 stars on durability is that I just received it about two weeks ago; but my expectation is that it will prove to be very durable as the years go by. 07/18/2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by great cast iron oven This is my first time cooking in a cast iron dutch oven. I loved it! The 3 1/2 qt size held enough for a family of 4. Heat was even for fast cooking. I will be lookin for dutch oven recipes as I plan on using my dutch oven often. Great red color and it cleans up fast. I made chicken tetrazzini in half the time. I would recommend the Lodge Dutch Oven from Walmart, great price too! The Site to Store shipping was free and I had my oven is just a few days. The only thing I worry about is the plastic handle but I can't see it changing the way the oven cooks. I love it!!! 07/07/2010

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Dutch oven My first dutch oven and real happy with this aside from the plastic knob. Replace it for a couple bucks at your local hardware store it's cheap and your good to go. Got this to bake KN bread and it works great. I was worried the 3qt was too small but it's the perfect size for KN bread and i hope it encourage me to cook more at home and eat healthy. 04/22/2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best quality AND best price. I have looked for a enameled cast iron pot for about a year. On line, catalogs, etc. The prices for them have been anywhere from $90.00 to $230.00. I just couldn't justify that amount. So put it off. Then saw the Lodge one on line, with Walmart. Lodge has a good reputation and has held up that reputation. I love it! 09/30/2011

Rated 5 out of 5 by Top Notch Cookware This is a great piece of cookware. The area around the lid and the pan are both black matte porcelain enamel. The enamel on the lid and pot (inside and out) is high grade. You will not be disappointed with this item. It is high quality. 01/23/2008

I ordered this to replace my $150.00 calaphon 2 1/2 quart sauce pot that scratched badly after only 2 years even though I took wonderful care of it. I decided to go back to lodge cast iron ( had a couple of pots in the 80's) I have a gas pro range and I have used this pot for rice, potatoes, stroganoff and cream soups it is excellent. It also cleaned like a breeze much nicer that the old cast iron If you love to cook buy this pot! 01/12/2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Exceptional product! Our daughter is a chef and when a dutch oven appeared on her Christmas list I started looking for one. Very expensive and out of our budget. While reading a magazine I saw a top 10 list and this was on it. It came highly reccommended. I found it at Walmart.com and had it shipped to site. I was worried it would not arrive in time for Christmas but it was there is just days. Our daughter was very surprised when she opened this and is very pleased with its quality. Rated 5 out of 5 by dutch oven I have used dutch ovens most of my life and this one is a jewel! It is coated with enamel so you don't have to worry about it rusting. It is very good looking so you can leave it out on the counter. I have cooked a roast in it and it was wonderful. I recommend this product to anyone that likes to cook. 11/06/2008

Rated 4 out of 5 by My new pot I love this dutch oven, but it is smaller than I expected (depth wise).I purchased to mainly deep fry my shrimp and chicken but can use for a lot of the dishes I prepare. Rated 4 out of 5 by excellent small dutch oven i have multiple Lodge cast iron dutch ovens and love them all. retains heat well. clean up is a breeze. to be honest i didn't realize 3 quart would be as small as it is. my mistake. it is excellent to reheat a good amount of homemade soups, chicken-n-noodles, etc. on the other hand, it is a great size to brown smaller portions of meat and veggies before putting it into the oven to finish up. 08/21/2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful and functional!! I am very happy with the Lodge Enalmel Dutch Oven. The finish is beautiful (I got the blue), and I have used it in the oven and on the stove-top. It worked great both ways. Very happy that the the lid knob is now metal so it can be used at higher oven temperatures. Remember not to use metal untensils on it (I forgot and now have a few discolored streaks inside mine. 03/31/2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome bakeware!! I purchased the 6 qt dutch oven about a year ago and love it! It's great for soups, stews, roasts, everything. Start something on the stove and move it to the oven, then land it on the table. I recently found an artisan bread recipe that is baked in a covered dutch oven. My 6 qt was too big for my loaves. The 3 qt is perfect! Now I've got one in blue and also red! They are beautiful. I can't see why anyone would pay the price of a Le Creuset when these are just as beautiful and just as functional. One improvement they've made since I bought my first one: the lid knob is now metal. The plastic knob has held up in the oven just fine, but I just feel better not having plastic in the oven. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Dutch Oven! I love this dutch oven. It is my first and is just the right size for two people. I love the way it gets hot up the inside walls and stays the right temperature. It cleans like a dream. It is very heavy but that is not an issue at all. I think it is beautifully made and looks terrific. The red is a true red and looks wonderful in my black and white and red kitchen. Love it!!! 01/20/2012
