Rated 5 out of 5 by For Movie Lovers This is one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time. It actually kept my attention the whole movie. Many think it will be boring and just another dragon slayer movie but it is not. It is actually very good. I recommend for anyone to watch it. And it is not about slaying dragons. It's a very magical movie. 09/12/2007
Rated 5 out of 5 by I absolutely love this movie. I had seen in on DVD and I was hoping it would be better on blue ray (better picture). Its so much better. I am so glad I bought it! 12/22/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Blue Ray Movies Blue Ray technology is far beyond what I expected. It compliments the movie perfectly. 07/25/2007
Rated 1 out of 5 by BD-DVD looks beautiful, still watching Eragon, tho Didn't like this much at all. In fact I prefer the books. At least the books elicit a response from me (albeit a mostly negative one). This gets boredom and apathy. The acting, when anybody bothered was singularly bad. Except that everyone was bad, so would that make it multiplicarly bad? And John Malkovich was just... I don't know how to describe it... Bad. Reallly bad. What you might call "campy" if it had charm. Even people who love this movie agree that he's horrible. Thankfully he's only in a couple scenes, and fairly brief ones at that Mostly it took what good there was from the book and ignored it. In fact, the book's parallels to Star Wars stand out in this movie version, which because of editing and the like, makes it look like a sword and dragon version of the original Star Wars. I'm sure I recognized a couple shots done almost identically in what we'll call an homage. Don't get me wrong, Star Wars was a bit stupid, but it had charm which this movie just doesn't have Some of the CG was okay, but very little of it truly integrated. I could always tell I was watching a computer. Since this is also epic fantasy it draws inevitable This last is one of its faults on Blu-Ray. It's such high definition that the computer elements seem to 'pop' out of the background. However the scenery is pretty awesome when it is dragonless. When Eragon rides the dragon he looks particularly computerized, accented by the high def. This movie still scores one "meh" from me. In 5 years nobody will remember it (unless they do sequels...). 03/13/2008
