Rated 4 out of 5 by bzkidsmom served the purpose
not very sturdy for every day use and we had to support weight of the clothes in the center with a shower rod. it is however working to store our off season clothes and keep them protected.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Theclown2 This closet will hold up to 40 items that are light weight. It is not sturdy enough for 40 heavy items so there should be an explanation given about how many pounds it will hold.
Rated 1 out of 5 by kaa613 Don't purchase
don't waste your money. I purchased five of these and all five are on the floor broken. They are made of plastic and do not hold any weight.
Rated 4 out of 5 by WAITING4SPRING ASSEMBLE FROM TOP INSTEAD OF BOTTOM
Definitely use two people to put this together. The instructions will have you assemble the bottom anchors & bars first, then set them inside the fabric bag, then assemble the top portion, lifting the fabric from bottom to top. If you do it this way, you will have to pull the fabric upwards, over the top portion, which in my case, tore the zipper away from the plastic on one side because it was so tight (plus we are pulling upwards from the zipper area). Before the damage got worse, we shimmied the fabric bag to the floor, separated the top and bottom portions of the assembly and began again. This time, with the top anchors/bars already assembled, we fit the fabric over the top asssembly, (sort of like putting on a shirt over your head). The top portion was now in a secure rectangle over the assembly with the remainder of the fabric bag hanging down. We then placed the bottom portion of the assembly inside the fabric bag, then attached it to the top assembly. This kept the zipper from pulling and it was a secure fit. The wardrobe is working great and looks very nice. I put clear tape on the inside to secure the 6 inches of zipper that tore. If the instructions had been better, I would have given it the highest rating.
Rated 4 out of 5 by JoMoMom Good Purchase
This clothes closet is very nice and functional, for light to medium weight clothing. It is not heavy duty enough for jeans, jackets, or coats. It looks nice though and is perfect for dresses, shirts, lightweight pants, etc. I'm pleased with the purchase.
Rated 1 out of 5 by tlynn12204 Not worth it
I bought 2 of these as a temporary solution to closet space being limited because they were supposed to be durable. They are most DEFINITELY NOT durable. The plastic feet and very thin steel bars gave me pause at the beginning. I set it up and put clothes in it and within 20 minutes it had fallen over (it was level) and when my husband tried to right it, the bars on the sides bent. Needless to say, I didn't set the second one up. I would not recommed this product and I will be taking the second one back for a refund.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Rileydog Broken Closet after 2 weeks
The closet was great at first. After 2 weeks of setting it up, one of the bars completely bent, and the closet is now resting on a wall for sturdiness... I have no idea how to get a new bar to hold this piece up.
Rated 5 out of 5 by atoti You need it
If you have as many clothes as the days of the year, you definitely need this closet. Be cautioned that once it's set up, you can't move it unless it's emptied. It breaks when you move it. But it is one of the best clothes rack for those people who have no closets or have just excessive clothing. You gotta try it. You can have my hide if you don't like it loool.
Rated 5 out of 5 by babygirl7 A great product
Great product. Very easy to put together and I did not need any help. The instructions were easy to follow. Holds a lot of clothes and freed up closet space. Looks great in the garage.
Rated 4 out of 5 by YoungProfessional123 Strong and sturdy
I fully recommend this product. It does take around 30 minutes to assemble alone. I have all of my clothes on the rack and it does not sway. I used every inch of the space. I also store baskets on the top for other items. I am so pleased with this product. A piece of advice would be to make sure the zippers are all working before you assemble. If they do not work, call the number located in the box and they will ship you a new cover for FREE. I had to do this, but I cannot complain because they are sending me a new one. My zipper slipped off the end when I was assembling it. I would put tape on each zipper end so that it will not happen when you are assembling the closet. For the price, it is a great closet. I wouldn't buy anyone that is more expensive than this, it is perfect!
Rated 5 out of 5 by chocohotti great product
Easy to assemble.Didn't need my husbands help.Doesn't look bad. Holds 110 hangers.Worth it.
Rated 1 out of 5 don't buy
This is not sturdy. What's the point of having something this big if it can't hold many clothes? Mine bent in the middle and I ended up throwing it away instead of moving it during my last move. Also, I thought the covering would be a good idea because I have cats and didn't want cat hair all over my clothes. Unfortunately, they scratched right through it. I would not recommend this product or buy it again. Next time, I'll get a metal rack to hang my out of season clothes.
Rated 5 out of 5 by grace61 Perfect for storing seldom used clothing
I thought the clothes closet was very easy to assemble. It has lots of room and I like the fact that it has a bottom and 3 separate zippers to keep out the dust.
I bought three closets online, they are so roomy I only used two. A friend took the other one for her daughter to use for her kids winter coats, boots etc.
Rated 4 out of 5 by robertskent95 Very useful - wish it came in colors or patterns
Large enough to accomodate a healthy wardrobe - unfortunately I needed to put plastic drawers on the bottom and ripped the back fabric. Wish they would redesign the bottom to reach the floor without strain. It is so big it takes over the wall you put it against but I like the extra length. Maybe just give it some color or floral design.
Rated 4 out of 5 by beigher Assembly parts not properly labeled
This should have been a drop dead simple assembly, but the parts look so much alike that the only differences in the lengths of the rods that hold this whole thing apart are made to different lengths and the packages that those rods come in were not identified to correlate with the instruction diagram. I had to take a tape measure and measure the rods to know which ones went where they belonged. That problem slowed my assembly process down dramatically. I contacted Whitmore to complain that the rods should be tagged in such a way that buyers could easily identify the rods and where they went in the assembly process. The wardrobe was exactly what I thougt it to be, and once assembled it was perfect for our needs.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Lostincyburbia Well made and easy to set up.
I was very pleased to find that all the parts were accounted for and putting them together was fast and easy. Once assembled the unit was sturdy, attractive, and certainly with proper use will last me a long time. I'd definitely recommend this product as an additional storage closet for anyone needing more space, or with the use of the cedar products sold by Walmart, a permanent storage unit.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Dwight01 This is a very useful product
The storage unit is exactly as advertised. I am very pleased with its capacity. Although I indicated I use it a few times a year, that is how often I access it. It is storing garments all the time.
Rated 4 out of 5 by leerm8680 Great organizer
Living in Afghanistan. I got tired of living out of a duffel bag and all of the wrinkles. I ordered the closet and soon it was at mail call. Went together like a charm. Doesn't take up a lot of space, but is so awesome for organizing and storage.
Rated 5 out of 5 by NeverPayFullPrice72 Great value!
I searched a number of these free-standing closets for storage in my basement. I read the reviews on this and many others, and decided this was the best as far as price and ratings went, and I'm not disappointed. It was easy to put together and it seems pretty sturdy. I would recommend using a rubber mallet or a hammer to put the poles together for a sturdier fit. I put it together by myself for the most part, but it is helpful to have a 2nd person to keep things in place toward the end...
Rated 5 out of 5 by 74MaggieMae Portable Closet
I absolutely love this product. It has more than met my expectations. On a scale of 1 - 10 I would definitely give it a 10. On ease of putting it together I would give it an 8. It is really worth the money. Now my clothes will not be smashed together and wrinkled in my little bedroom closet.
Rated 1 out of 5 by santeehalls Very Disappointed
This clothes closet looked great on-line and great in the picture on the box. But when we opened it there were NO directions inside. So we did the best we can in assembling it. Once we assembled the skeleton we learned that we needed to assemble it INSIDE the closet covering, which was very difficult without at least 3 people working on it. So after dis-assembling it and re-assembling it we pulled the cover tight and it promptly tore. Getting the handy duct tape out made it tear even more. It lasted about a week and a half when in the middle of the night it came crashing down scaring us to death. There was no saving it this time so into the trash it went. We decided not to go cheap next time. I guess its true that you get what you pay for.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Van619 Poor Product
This product I purchased was missing a piece and then broke within 24 hrs. of set up. What is even worse is that I am left with a cleaners bill for all the clothes I attempred to hang in the closet. All my suits and dress shirts need to be sent to the cleaners to be pressed. They want me to re-package the item and mail it back to them before they will send out a replacement. What a way to handle a valued customer !!!
Rated 1 out of 5 by icequeenstar I have not yet received this product and cannot review it. I would like to know where product is.
Rated 1 out of 5 by kabhill Do not Buy this Item
Purchase this for my hunting clothes went together easy ,been together and in use for less than 8 months the fabric is tearing . So do your self a favor save your money the only way to fix this is the buy all new material except for frame .
Rated 1 out of 5 This came in a box clearly marked that there was a piece missing. It was not make well and I returned it. As I could not put it together with out the missing part. I would not order on line from Walmart again.
Rated 2 out of 5 by sandyeegirl This product was very flimsy and cheaply made. Ripped when trying to put the outer covering in place and poles bent.
Rated 5 out of 5 by SueP Excellent for extra clothing
I have this closet as well and I recommend this wardrobe to all of my clients for their extra clothing. Dresses and suits they do not wear that often are perfect for this closet. Another use is for my clients who have to switch out seasonal clothing because their regular closet cannot hold it all. I would not use it for heavy coats of any kind - it is just not strong enough. Lastly, use very light weight hangers (such as huggable hangers).
Rated 3 out of 5 by catlover777 Functional only
I had to request assembly instructions from Whitmor. After that, the assembly was pretty easy. I chose not to put the cover on. This is functional for me, not classy. It is not as sturdy as I would like, either. Some of the bars don't fit into the holes as well as it sounds on the instructions. Overall, I am satisfied with this product.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Luvmyblissful2 flimsy
This product is not good. My husband put it together and it broke. Very flimsy. Taking it back.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Machne14 The product tore as I was putting it together. This was the second one that i brought and the first one tore as well but i replaced it. I decided to keep this one. But It is not too durable.
