Rated 3 out of 5 by ClassicsConnoisseur This movie is of a biblical base. Some quotes were directly from scripture, but as in so many cases, the story is rewritten for a movie. The writer of this script either wasn't very familiar with the story in the Bible or had an imagination that wasn't in keeping with it. As a result, it didn't seem realistic comparatively speaking. A little disappointing.

Seen this movie as I was browsing other DVDs. Peck is good, but not as good as his character in the "Guns of Navarone". Susan Hayward is outstanding as Bathsheba, perfect casting of the character. The guy playing Nathan the Prophet is perfect.

Very intense movie. Bathsheba was an Ethiopian. Too bad the director couldn't find somebody more authentic to fill this role.
