Rated 5 out of 5 by MYLOZO I enjoy this movie. I remember watching this when I was I a kid. The only thing I dis-like. It is wide screen. Wish they offer it full and wide screen. Other then that it is a good movie.
Rated 3 out of 5 by not2manyhares STAR Wars WannaBE~ 3 Stars~ 1980 Disney
PLOT: every studio was making a STAR WARS knock off~ this is the Disney Version~
Mad Scientist is found on the edge of a BLACK HOLE by a crew looking for life in the universe.
The Humamoid crew and his Robots of the scientiest )Maxamillian Schell) We soon discover are his "prisioner" former crew~ We see an evil RED robot named Maximillian and a "good " robot named Vincent~ typical Disney fun~ good special effects for 1980~ what this lacks is a plot. Still worth watching ONCE~ trivia: uncredited voice of VINCENT is Roddy McDowell~ I GIVE THIS 3 STARS~ WORTH WATCHING ONCE~

Rated 5 out of 5 by Berkana18 Disney's Black Hole
The Black Hole is a Disney Scifi flick. It is the story of a spaceship which comes upon a gigantic blackhole and finds another ship seemingly suspended within it. The script is well written and well acted. The cast is excellent. While the science might be a bit shakey, the set design is great. The robots are quiet, cute, and sometimes deadly. This is a film for all ages. The dvd is of excellent quality and includes a making featurette and trailer.
Rated 4 out of 5 by menc1 black hole review
the was disney's early scifi movie before the cult classic TRON. movie has good special effects for the era it was filmed and told a scifi story without all the techno babel and still explain the basis of
how a black hole works. the villan maximillon meeting his end and well as the evil scientist is a bit paying the piper at the end for their bad deeds.

Good addition to my DVD collection, wish it had come as a DVD-Blue Ray combo. Good picture quality and good sound track.

I remember watching this movie when I was 5 or 6 on the Disney Channel, and fell in love with it right from the start.
For it's time the special effects were stellar and the story line was engrossing.
Great Characters, especially the villainous robot Maximillion. Still my favorite villain.

The center stem that holds the disc in was broken.
Other than that the quality was good.
Rated 5 out of 5 by scifinaut This is a great Disney movie from the days when Disney was struggling to maintain its family film reputation in an increasingly crude world.
