Rated 5 out of 5 by Questionable at First Upon Building. Upon unpacking and inventory, I thought the plastic housings were cheap even though they only lock the Hard Drives in place. But once in they do their job and help cut the cost on this item as the important parts are the back plane, daughter board (eSata-USB 3.0), and SATA Backplane. Once setup you use the USB3 connection first to setup the drive for Win 7 to recognize. Then you can begin initializing your RAID configuration however you choose, which in my case was a JBoD (Just Bunch of Drives) plan. - It's quiet - Easy to setup - LED indicators BRIGHT!!! - Can actually take 4TB Drives for 16TB Basic/Dynamic Drive - No IEEE Firewire Other than that there is a few newer models available, but unless your into that just connect one eSata cable to one computer and USB2/3 to another and STORE AWAY :) 10/23/2012
