We recieved the glider chair through Site to Store which was great - no shipping! It got to the store very quickly and was in a small enough package to get home easily. My brother set up the chair in all of 10 minutes and said it was no problem to put together. The dark espresso wood matches the "espresso" finish of the crib and dresser in the nursery perfectly and is pretty true to the dark coffee color you would expect. I am currently 39 weeks pregnant and wasn't sure if the chair would be comfortable since I am feeling pretty wide right now, but it is, and would accomodate any larger person comfortably.
I purchased this glider because I didn't really want to spend a whole lot on a chair that would soley be used for the nursery...we initially considered a traditional rocking chair we could move to a porch of another room down the line, but found that they started at about the same price as this glilder! I assumed the glider would feel "cheap" given the price, but it seems just as sturdy as the one's starting at $199 at BRU and so far I've been comfy using it. I will agree with other reviews that the cushioning is much thinner than other gliders, but for me thicker cushions were not worth a higher price tag. I searched many sites and don't think you can find a less expensive chair that is pretty good qualilty...

This rocker is excellent. I really wanted a glider/rocker in my baby's room and couldn't afford a larger expensive one. This one is fabulous. Excellent product for the money, very easy to put together. My husband put it together in 15 minutes. The base is already assembled only the top and the cushions have to be put on. It matches everything perfectly in my nursery. The only thing I don't like about it is that it sits a little lower than an average chair so my legs kind of drag as I am rocking my baby and I am only 5'3".

Loved the glider rocker, easy assembly, matches the Graco Lauren Espresso Crib and the Park Lane Espresso furniture line perfectly. The price is an exceptional value and sits quiet comfortable.

We are expecting our first child in September, and I looked at several rockers/gliders before deciding on this one. While the style of it is not exactly what I would have ideally wanted, I just couldn't see paying three times as much for a chair that did essentially the same thing. The wood is a nice, dark cherry color, and the cushions are a little darker than the picture shows.
We haven't used it much yet, but it seems to be comfortable and quiet, and it has a great gliding motion. Some other models have thicker cushions, but for the price, I think this was a great purchase.
Rated 1 out of 5 by LovesWalmartDotCom Fell apart while sitting on it
At first this chair was useful. At the 2 week mark, it started tilting when rocking back and making a clunky sound. A couple days later, I heard a few metal things hit the ground and saw a bolt and a washer. I am taking it back today literally. I am extremely unhappy with this chair and will not be exchanging it for a new one.
The cushions are not zippered so you have to hand wash and the seat is going flat after 2 weeks. (Keep in mind I am not a big person, 5'6 and 160). If you are going to buy this chair anyway, get the ottoman too. Its nice to be able to put your feet up.

this is an absolutely beautiful glider and pretty comfy for the price; my only complaint is i purchased it online, where it appears that the cushions are white and they are a dark cream/tan color, which throws things off a bit for me! i'm just going to have some slip covers custom made in white since the upholstry doesn't come of the cushions anyways (bad for a nursery- you need something that you can just throw in the wash!)
Rated 5 out of 5 by sukru Very convenient and affordable
WE expected a huge box that might take up the whole trunk of my car when we ordered the product. But we were pleasantly surprised with the compact packaging and it fit right into a Walmart shopping cart and took minimal space in the backseat of my car. It was a cold Sunday afternoon and we decided okay, might as well assemble it now than later, while we are seated home and set aside the next 3 hours for assembly. Once out of the box we realized the only wooden frame part that needed attached was the back and the two arms. My wife instantly decided it was going to be a one-"man" project and got cosy in her bed. and I started. It took less than 30 minutes to put the frame in, and tie in the cushions. The hand cushion took about few minutes as it has to be well stretched to clip into the button as it is bare fit length and for a good reason. The rocker has been used by me, my wife, my in-laws and we all love it!!! Very convenient to get rid of backaches and sores. The color is a little light and does show up any dirt so have to watch out for any potential stains but other than that, in terms of utility value i give it high marks. have not noticed any creaking with it yet as some others have commented.
Rated 5 out of 5 by bluempy I bought one of the gliders about 2 years ago for my expectant daughter-in-law. She loved it! I just bought another one for my daughter who is expecting later this year. This product is great and very comfortable! The price is the best I have ever seen for a glider!

I got this glider last weekend. My boyfriend put it toguether for me like in 20 minutes...Its confortable and looks really nice.It came with a couple of scratches, but they were in the lower parts so no need to make a big deal about it.....

After reading some of these reviews, I had some trepidation when I bought this item as a cheap replacement for one that just broke down.
Brought it home, told the wife I'd assemble it "after lunch" and went out to the workshop.
A half hour later, before lunch, she comes in and says "I have it all together, and I love it." So much for being tough to assemble. Wife says "It was easy - eight screws and I was done." She feels the chair is substantial and well-padded.
It now resides in her sewing room, where she contentedly swings and sways while watching a few of her favorite shows.
A happy wife is a happy house.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Lemnlime Starts falling apart after a year or so
This chair lasted me well for a year save for the annoying problem of squeaky parts which can be lubricated easily. Yet now its simply falling apart and just some gentle rocking causes the arm to detach from the rest of the chair and the wooden poles that make up the back of the chair keep coming loose and have put gashes into my wall. Keep away from this chair if you value durability--it may be cheap but it doesn't withstand much use.

I can't understand the great reviews on this glider. I think it's "ok" but the padding is so thin and I guess you get what you pay for.

I purchased the Dorel - Glider Rocker, Cherry (Model: WM1642CCOM) from Walmart.com on 09/23/2010, and received the glider on 09/29/2010. After a week or so of use the glider began to make a terrible squeeking noise, last night my husband took a look at the chair and the bearings were extremely loose. I feel that after a month of use that a chair should not be falling apart, especially one that my husband and I would like to SAFELY rock our newborn son in.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Dizzy33d You won't find a better chair at this price. Looks and feels great.
Rated 4 out of 5 by LittleTreasures If you can stomach putting it together its great!
Fortunately I read the reviews before this arrived so I knew to expect a difficult assembly and warned my husband that some parts may be mislabeled. They were – about 5-6 of the wood parts were numbered incorrectly, and he said the manual seems to have been put together by a 4th grader. Pretty difficult to figure out, but he did it and it took him about 5 hours to assemble the dresser.
He said it is not excellent quality – most of the wood is veneer and when he put the screws in the back they went right through the veneer and flaked it off. Fortunately that’s on the inside so not really noticeable.
Once it is finally all together though it is really pretty! It doesn’t seem that cheap of quality to someone who didn’t have to put it all together (me), but my husband said he would rate it 3 stars due to the quality and difficulty of putting it together, and that is worth more like $175 rather than $290 (what we paid after tax).
I would rate it 4 stars – it is nice looking, the drawers are pretty deep, and I like the cabinet portion, it is big enough to fit a mid size trash can or diaper pail so it is out of the way. The one thing I don’t like when looking at the dresser is the veneer cherry wood finish seems a bit fake compared to the real cherry finish on the glider and crib I bought.
If you receive yours and there are parts missing, chipped, or the hardware bag is open, it was probably a return – I can see how someone would give up after about an hour and send it back. Ours arrived neatly with all the hardware sealed in the bags and no damage.
It matches well enough with the Dorel Glider Rocker (Cherry), although the wood veneer cherry color isn't as pretty as the real wood cherry of the Glider (looks a little fake and is more of purplish red).
UPDATE: I wrote that review 5 months ago before baby came. Now that he is 4 months old I can post an update and say I am VERY happy with the dresser! I LOVE that the sides have the "rails" on them so the changing pad doesn't slip off. The top is the perfect size for the changing pad and a basket of accessories (diapers, wipe warmer). Drawers still open smoothly, and I love the cabinet part where I keep the trash can. Like I said above I didn't have to put it together myself, but I am very happy with this purchase.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Gmadonni I like this chair a lot. The cushions could be thicker.
Rated 2 out of 5 by mosam11 Very disappointed
I have an older Dorel glider which I love! I compared the dimensions and knew this chair was a little smaller, but now that we have it assembled - it feels so much smaller! I can barely even fit in the chair without my legs smashed against the arms just trying to squeeze into the seat. I gave it a 2 star rating because the cushions make it comfortable enough, it was easy to assemble and feels very durable. However, I'm extremely disappointed in how narrow it is for the width, and am really considering just returning it.
Rated 2 out of 5 by 7Scilla Beautiful chair, looks great...but
I loved the look of the chair, but, I have had I for only 10 days, there are two issues with it already. One the snaps that hold the sides on don't stay snapped they are always coming undone, and two the material between the seat cushion and the springs has become unattached. Poor workman ship. And yes I do use the chair a lot, after all that's why I purchased it.
As for the order Walmart was great, I placed the order on a Monday nite and it was at my door by Thursday.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bry0ny Great for the price
I bought this glider for my nursery before my second baby was born. I read the description of most of the gliders on the site and decided this would be the best for the price. It's slightly smaller than some of the higher-quality gliders that I have sat in but I figured it would be. I am 5'4", average build and it is perfect for someone my size to sit in and nurse my son. The back isn't high enough that you would easily doze off but I'm perfectly fine with that because I don't want to fall asleep holding my baby. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by gators0609 Definitely getting a new one next time!!!
We purchased this rocker for our first child and after sometime it started to fall a part. I didn't use it very much but the bottom pieces that the cushion sits on started popping off. I tried putting them back on but they would just come right back off. I will definitely be getting a new when next time. The cushions are pretty thin and it seems to wear down pretty fast. Like I said I didn't use it that much and my son and I together are like 160 so for me it just seemed to wear down to fast.
Rated 5 out of 5 by MOHotRod Very nice glider rocker
Very easy to assemble; took 20 minutes just as the directions stated. The glider rocker is sturdy, comfortable, and a great value for the price.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bunger This chair is junk. After a month of use the bars that hold the seat up keep popping out of place. I put them back in and they just pop right back out. Including my baby I am about 160 and I think the chair should be able to hold that.
Rated 4 out of 5 by urchildcare I bought this rocker for my home child care to rock my babies and it's perfect, it doesn't take up a lot of space which is perfect.. took me about 10 to 15 mins to assemble(very easy).. I love it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mothertoasweetbabygirl I love this glider. My sister in law and brother purchased this for me when I had my daughter, it was a wonderful addition to the things we needed for her. I returned the favor as my brother and sister in law are welcoming their first born come august. She loved it and it's a beautiful chair, great value, and quality.

I bought this chair to use in the nursery at my church. We all like it and the childred will not get hurt like a regular rocker. Very pleased!
