Good thing I have put tents together in the past, as the directions for assembly was a disaster.

This would be a great tent, but for whatever reason they make the floor out of 2 pieces. This is suposed to be a bath tub floor but it defeats the purpose if there is a seam down the middle of the floor. the tent leaks very bad from this seam. I will be returning this.

I bought this tent to replace my 9 x 9 Gigatent which didn't stand up to a 350 pound brown bear.
I love this tent for all the wrong reasons.
In Colorado, almost all car-campers own one or more tents. Typically, these are dome tents used for sleeping. I own a high quality Alaskan outfitter's dome tent. But I never use it because I can't cook in it. I always choose to use the Gigatent because, with the high ceiling and vertical walls, I can stand erect and cook in it.
This tent makes for a very convenient configuration. I line one side of the tent with camp tables with cooking utensils along with the lantern and cook stove just below the open window for circulation. On the opposite side of the tent under the other window I set up my cot. All of the cooking gear is stored in tubs under the tables. The clothes are stored in duffle bags under the cot. The coolers are stored on either side of the door as one enters the tent.
I have never had a problem with fire in the tent, but there are obvious dangers. The lantern must be hung from the ceiling or set towards the middle or front of the table, not back up against the tent fabric. And high winds against the sides of the tent can push the table over if it is set too close to the fabric!
There are other negatives. This tent is difficult to set up in high winds, but properly staked, I have never had one blow over. The Velcro on the new tent of lesser quality and is too small in size to conveniently secure the tent. The fittings on the previous tent were of higher quality and fit snuggly. These are not the same quality and fit loosely, but this actually makes the tent easier to set up because of the extra wiggle room. I store the rain fly in a separate bag to make packing easier.
