This unit for the money Beats all other on E-Bay both in price and what you
get in the unit it self. The unit even comes with the instillation sleve, which
helps lock in the unit in your dash. Thanks
Rated 5 out of 5 by Stavondivad Great stereo for the price.
My old stereo finally quit so I went online to look for a similar stereo but found this Boss Audio with all these extra features I probably didn't need. Installation was easy, it works and sounds way better than my old one and you can watch music videos and movies. Now I'm looking at a back up camera to hook up to it. It's very user friendly for having all the different functions. The 3.2 screen is a little small but at night or in the shade it's very clear and bright.
Rated 1 out of 5 by BigJayfromaroundtheway Piece of junk
Was excited when I got radio. CD, DVD, USB, etc. all in one for a very good price. DVD was working as it has a safety precaution that only allows you to watch it when in park. DVD player only worked when we connected cable to reverse which is totally wrong. USB never worked. When you play a CD and want to replay a song, rewind takes you to the song prior instead of current song. Very annoying. Returned steroe within a wk\.
Rated 1 out of 5 by miguel1052 I orderded this product on line, after installing it the dvd or cd didnt work the unit would not load my usb properly the remote was a joke had to press the keys from 3 to five times to get it to work.
Rated 5 out of 5 by DrRoy Great radio upgrade
Good car radio upgrade. Replaced a Mercedes radio w/cd cart in the trunk, (Diamond in the hat, w/a Gangtsa lean), and this radio delivers on sound quality. In fact I was planning to use an amp to fill the car or my head w/sound and have decided this radio's "STEREO-BOOST" setting is adequate to hear fully Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Marley, Coltrane or the Boss! The built-in DVD screen in my car is set to be used ONLY W/MY REVERSERSE BACKUP CAMERA! I suggest you do the SAME! Of course if you prefer to drive and watch a DVD you'll find the picture beautiful as you wait for the arrival of POLICE and Ambulance! In other words, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT DRIVE while WATCHING DVD"S! If you have a child that needs to watch a DVD from the FRONT SEAT WHILE YOU"RE DRIVING, may I suggest you use it as a Teaching moment between yourself and your child.
1- FIRST put down Ur cell phone so U can make sure you have THE RIGHT CHILD IN THE FRONT SEAT!
2- ADVISE THIS CHILD U'd LIKE TO LIVE 2 attend their GRADUATION some day, Shld they decide to STUDY rather than TEXT!
3- INTRODUCE YOUR CHILD TO A NEW TYPE OF COMMUNICATION CALLED, TALKING
4- BARGAIN W/Ur CHILD TO CONSIDER NOT STARRING AT A D*** CELL PHONE and GET TO KNOW U as their PARENT!
5- LASTLY, RISK the phenomenon aka, CHILD-WRATH or worse their reporting U to SOCIAL SERVICES and say out loud, "NO DVD"S while DRIVING!"
Rated 2 out of 5 by Jasonpsych Cheap radio
Pros: Abundant connections, easy install, and the ability to bypass the unable to show video while driving is easy. Power output was an upgrade to the factory system.
Many ways to bring music or videos into the car having SD, Flash, CD, DVD, and AUX plug.
Detachable faceplate would be great if I didn't want it stolen.
Cons: Screen size was expected to be small, but when hitting the osd button to see track or time, the numbers displayed are totally unreadably small while driving.
It will not read many formats, such as MP4.
It will skip when reading SD or Flash drive videos if they are HD.
Worst remote I've ever used.
I am not returning this product because of the cost. It will serve purpose until I can afford to upgrade to the "7 screen that will play MP4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by keepsake511 great receiver, way beyond just a radio
The receiver is great. the sounds and video are excellent.
Rated 5 out of 5 by rrichs85 Great multi-media radio
This radio installed easily with the $9 adapter kit from the Wal-mart store. The wires are color-coded, so all I did was solder the leads and cover the joints with heat-shrink tubing for a professional-looking installation. Once the adapters were soldered, the adapter plugged into the back of the radio and into the car's connectors. I tucked the wires down into the spaces below the radio and put the radio into its slot in the dash.
The radio works very well and is quite intuitive in operation. The volume control knob is large and a volume level bar at the bottom of the screen gives you a visual of the volume setting. Switching from AM to FM to CD or DVD is easily done by toggling through the MODE button.
The unit has the option to install a high-power speaker system which I did not use.
The unit has the option to install a rear camera which I did not use. A safety feature of this unit is to disable the video unless you are shifted into reverse.
Rated 5 out of 5 by CorvairGeek Awesome unit for the price
Awesome unit for the price. Clean sound and good power. Remote features and menu work well.
Video output signal appears a little weak when running to an external monitor. I will probably need a video amplifier for best quality. I like the muting feature when the backup camera input is activated, unit even powers on for backup when powered off. Boss Audio has excellent system online for help tickets, too bad they don't seem to respond to them. I questioned the difference between USA1 and USA2 in the area settings (not documented anywhere), I finally called and was told that USA2 turns off the RDS functions, but this radio doesn't have that feature anyway. The user's manual available online is different than the one included with the unit. I suspect this unit I have may have different firmware than earlier models, as the manual online and other reviews make me believe this unit is a bit more refined than earlier ones. My only concern is long term reliability, and the unit is a bit buggy when going to or from the SD card or USB port. I've had it switch to a blank blue screen when going from the SD card (radio sound comes back on) and yesterday I got a screen say 'Smart Upgrade Don't Power Off Unit" when loading my SD card (8GB card, 1000+ songs, 7.5GB MP3s) Normally loads the card in about one minute.
Rated 5 out of 5 Sounds great
You get just a little bit more than what you pay for here. I have had this unit installed in my 95 Suburban for a week now, and have no complaints. Maybe just one. There is no time lapse display while playing mp3 discs, and no visuals/graphics. But like i said, unit sounds great and pushes my two twelves just fine. I have not yet installed a backup camera but by the looks of it, it is going to be easy to do so. I definitely recommend this product to someone that just wants a no frills sound system.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Caliboy71 Stereo sounds good.
This car stereo sounds very good but the display is very generic the time is very tiny & it has a delay of about 5 seconds before it actually turns on!
Rated 4 out of 5 by skipper52 real nice cd unit
I really like this cd unit so far once I got it installed. I would like to get an extended warranty on it but I feel that I should have the first year as a factory warranty then have an option to purchase an extra one on it later after I have it a while to try out.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Montanaman CD/DVD player too sensitive to play discs
Value was good, but the DVD/CD player was too sensitive and skips way too much. All of the discs I tried worked perfectly in other players.
Also directions did not explain how to do all functions. Still wondering how to set the clock.
The customer service reps on the phone are very helpful.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Jdmac50 Good radio

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dadaudio Defective and poor support from manufacturer
after a long install the device was defective. Could not adjust volume or settings. Customer service at Boss was useless. Returned to Walmart - no problem as usual. I do not recommend this manufacturer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jennydaninja Great
Love the radio! My issue with it is that the directions aren't clear as far as putting it in is concerned. The directions could be more thorough and detailed overall. It also doesn't come with the camera but it comes the rear view camera hookup. Looks good. My remote didn't work though but that may be an easy fix. Love that it comes with a mute button and a loudness option.

This item came damaged in the mail. I returned it to the store for a Refund.
I ordered another one. I can't do a review until I get a New unit. I just wanted to listen to some tunes Thanksgiving weekend. Now I have to wait for two weeks for a new one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by B666 car audio
well it doesn't sit at the right angle in my vehicle so you can't see the little tiny screen very well I didn't buy it for its DVD uses about it AM FM CD player but the remote control is so convoluted it makes using it without either memorizing the whole pad or constantly having a light on at night virtually impossible but as far as working yeah it works and yes it was delivered on time and yes the price was very inexpensive and you get what you pay for
Rated 5 out of 5 by fred What a cool player
Wow, plays everything I have, even watch DVDs movies on the screen. Sure the screen is small, but its a single djn size so it's as big as it can be. Has outputs to hook it to a RCA video device, like a tv. Has an input for a backup camera, plays SD cards with mp3s. and I burnt a dvd with mp3s, everyone I listen too, and it plays them. Radio is great too. Only negatives are the manual is a bit vague on how-tos and you have to hinge down the front to change discs, but with what, 800+ mp3s on a dvd, it don't need opened much.
Rated 5 out of 5 by ACE722 Everything you need
I bought this unit because it pretty much has everything you probley can use all in one place. Yes DVD screen is small but it works great for quick reference to DVD, USB, SD card. Even has plug for a back up camera. And at this price some other units are $300 to $500 for same thing. And I was missing power plug in box so I called boss in California on Friday talked to a tech e-mailed him copy of receipt and had part on Monday fastest service I've ever had. I recommend to anyone who's is in the market for something like this. Sound is very good..enjoy

Bought the Boss cd player and having a blast with it. Really enjoying it. Thanks !
Rated 2 out of 5 USB does not work
You get what you pay for. Needed this unit to install a backup camera in my car and wanted a detachable face. This is not really a single din, more like a 1.5 din. You need to really wedge it in there. Not a lot of higher end brands sell single din DVD players, and if you do find one, it is usually expensive. Well everything works on this unit other than the USB port. I thought I had a defective unit, until I purchased another one and the USB still didn't work. So if you are okay with just using the AUX port and playing DVDs then purchasing this unit. Otherwise pay a reputable name brand.
