Rated 4 out of 5 by Great chairs, not so great table. My wife and I chose this table and chair set for our two year old after researching multiple brands and styles. We liked the aesthetic of the "New Traditions" table and chair set from Step 2 but found, as did many reviewers, that the chairs themselves had many flaws and faults intrinsic to their design. The chairs with this set, however, seem to be the follow up to those. Although they look similar they have been redesigned to allow for better balance, more seat space and a higher back, all of which seem to allow children of various sizes to sit more comfortably. Looks like they took the feedback to heart and came out with a much better product. That being said we found that the tabe leaves a lot to be desired. is is flimsy in it's construction and lightweight with little to no traction at all. It will constantly slide away from our child as he attempts to sit at it and pursue any given activity. I put velcro on the feet of ours which helped to address this problem, but still leaves us with a rather rickety amd untrustworthy peice of furniture. All in all, not bad, but with room for improvement. Perhaps Step 2's third pass at this design will give us all a solid table and chair combo. 10/10/2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Too small for for a 4 yr old Cute table & chairs, but way too small for my 4 yr old. Fits well for my 2 yr old though. We're returning it. My 4 yr old is pretty small--39" & 32 lbs, yet he looks like a giant about to fall off the chair when at the table. 12/29/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love it, but I would only change one thing.... ... and that is the manner in which the table legs are secured into the tabletop. They are kind of a "snap" in type structure... but not really. They could come out with very little effort, but the legs coming out would not injure the child at all (unless they opt to use it for batting practice:->), so it really isn't a huge concern. Yes, the table is extremely light weight, and so are the chairs, but I don't have a problem with this. I agree that it means the child(ren) can move them around, and they may even move on their own if not sitting next to a wall, but the PRO is that it also means the table is so lightweight that it is highly unlikely to injure the child(ren). My little one is only 19 months, and while this table is marketed for 2+ years, I was not interested in purchasing more than one table, or waiting until he was 2. He's a tiny bit short for his age (short parents... whaddya gonna do:->), AND under 2 years, but the table is perfect for him, even with those factors in play. I love that the chairs have a 75 lb weight capacity, so he will be able to use them for many years to come. I love the fact that this set has neutral colors so that it can compliment the decor of any room, even as room colors and themes change over the years. I also LOVE the fact that there is zero need for hardware and/or tools. If the table legs actually "snapped" in like the chair parts, I would have definitely rated this a "5." 10/25/2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Easy assemble Too light weight which means a kid can just lift it and throw it or move it .... The chairs are great its the table that is too light weight. Also no grip at the bottom of the table and chair legs thus does not work for a wooden floor as when my child tried to sit on it the chair would move and the table move with the slightest push or tug. 09/04/2012
