Rated 5 out of 5 Great game but NOT for the weak of heart
Games these days will hold your hand until the very end credits. Dark Souls is the complete opposite. There is no hand holding at all and there are severe punishments for dieing. There are no maps so you need to memorize were most of the things are and the maps are HUUUGE. Expect to spend a good amount on this game. Again, if you are up for the challenge, then this game is for you. If you're one of those, "oh its too hard, I'm going to play something easier" then this game will not be for you. It can be frusturatingly difficuly (makes you scream, yell, and throw your controller on the ground) but when you accomplish something, you feel the GREATEST sense of achievement. I loved Demon's Souls to death and I will love Dark Souls to death. This game is NOT intended for young children or teenagers. It is oriented towards adults who LOVES A DIFFICULT CHALLENGE. This is one of the best games out there.
Rated 5 out of 5 by AesirAelfvine Difficult, but rewarding action adventure game
This game is not easy. It can be extremely frustrating. It has a steep learning curve, so expect to die frequently. That being said, its one of the best games that I've played. Its constantly surprising me and the plus-game means that I never get bored of playing it. I would recommend this game to any serious gamer (or dedicated casual ones). I would not recommend it for children or teenagers. Not only would it be almost impossible for them to play, there is some seriously mature material.
Rated 2 out of 5 by NintenDan They didn't tell me this would be red label box
This review has nothing to do with the quality of Dark Souls as a game, just the packaging. The item listing should have noted in description and image that this was going to be a red label greatest hits edition. As a collector, these red labels are an eye soar, and not as appealing to own as the original black label. Not only that but the disc somehow came loose inside the box so the disc was being rattled around all throughout shipment...lame.
Rated 5 out of 5 by huriel nice and difficult
this game is no push over, packed with giant monsters.harder than demons souls(this game is not the sequel but more like a remake. a good remake.not remake as in same missions, everything changed from the previous game. some of the features that made it bad(demons souls) are gone or they minimized it.
