Rated 2 out of 5 by They Dropped the ball! Graphics are amazing , and the game play is good, but they really dropped the ball in this one. First off there are NO mid-race saves, meaning if you start a full race u must finish it or lose your progress. Second, There are NO 125 qualifiers for the Daytona 500 (NOT VERY AUTHENTIC). And, If you play shortened races the cpu cars NEVER pit. ALSO it doesn't use the 2011 UPDATED scoring system. Very DISAPPOINTED! 03/29/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by BEST NASCAR PS3 GAME EVER MADE We NASCAR racing fans have been waiting since 2008 for a new release. The former EA sports 2009 game was a huge disappointment. Most likely because they knew their license would end that year. Anyway, out with the old and in with the new. This game is top of the line. Incredible graphics, realistic crashes, more personal feel from crew chiefs, spotters, etc. Tv announcers, more pre-race specials. They have done an excellent job their first time out! In years to come, you will see them expand into the other NASCAR series as well. In this game, you can either drive your favorite driver ( Like Tony Stewart :)... ) or start up your own career and work your way up. The games are usually a season behind as far as car numbers and sponsors... but don't worry... this company is going to make available a free download to update the paint schemes and sponsors. So, you Tony Stewart fans out there, you'll get his Mobil 1 paint scheme as well as the Office Depot. No one will be disappointed with this game!! It is far above and beyond games like Gran Turismo! The shops you have get better with wins, sponsorships, etc. Many on line racing fans raved about the papyrus 2003... but they'll be blown away by this new game!!!!! 03/29/2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Dropped the ball Well what a let down just got the game and all it has is the sprint cup cars on it but they also have some of nationwide series drivers so on the track you have two number 7s on the track one is gordon and the other is patrick. Dont waste yalls money rent it first or wait for it to go on sale. wish i would of waited 03/29/2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Online is offbeat at best Gameplay is decent, racing against the computer is OK, graphics are play is horrible. Way too many problems, including, poor car lineup at start with uneven spacing between cars, or it just starts with a huge wreck and your locked up while others are already around track, then maybe the computer will release you to start a lap down. Cannot race your choice of car while online, the only car you can use is the one your doing a carrer with, and the only way to switch is to abort carrer. In paintbooth you get a very nice setup and coloring device for your choice of number, but it won't put it on the car....and the list goes on and on, at best I am dissapointed with this game, they are supposed to be coming out with updates to help these problems, but this game should not have been released this way. 04/19/2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible This is horrible game. Not just a bad nascar game, it's just a poorly developed game. Their website has a very long list of complaints if you're really interested in what's wrong with it. It's seriously a waste of money. 05/19/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by its a good game. for two players you should give the option to do a championship or have single races. 03/30/2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by Nothing like what is being marketed. Game is nothing like what is advertised on the commercial. It is full of glitches and bugs. It's not even semi realistic and the online feature is unplayable. Buyer Beware! If you have to have this game go get a used copy trust me there are plenty of dissapointed fans of nascar trading this game in. 03/31/2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by nascar the game 2011 good racing with the simulation wheels. (Not the plastic things that come with the bundle) But like every other nascar game they end up rushing to get it done and for that it has a bunch of glitches, not happy with that. good game for the most part, but does have glitches. 04/02/2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Game still seems to be in a development stage As I have played this game since it release day I have wanted to throw it at the wall more and more everyday. It is not just the stability of the game on the system but it is the massive amount of glitches that came with the game. To start off I would like to talk about the games stability. You better have a USB FlashDrive or a subscription to PlayStation Plus (R) rready because this game freezes so much. It freezes in the middle of races, loading screens, paintbooth, and especially when you are racing online with more than 8 players. And when it decides to crash most of the time the game is saving and makes the data file corrupt. And when you are in the middle of longer races 100+ laps you will be like half way and the game will just lock up on you. Now I would like to talk about the massive amount of glitches in the game. You have glitched starts online where cars come to a complete stop, cars flying through the air, and you going a lap down before you even take the green flag to the race. Not only is it annoying but it can ruin your online stats which a lot of people look at when they are going to race you. Then you also have AI the are either way to competitive or too easy to beat at the hardest difficulty. Then if you have any assists on you will not go more the 160mph at the wrong places on the track. Now away from all the glitches and all that are the hard to navigate menus in the game. They lead to more menus and by the time you reach what you want you have already wwnt through about 15 seconds of loading time. But the pros of the game is that it is very polished and looks very good. and the AI do seem to race better than what previous versions of NASCAR had 06/22/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good, could be better Don't let the title of my review fool or scare you. It's a good game but it does have its flaws. The good: -Pretty good detail on the cars, such as sponsors, logos, colors, etc. -Pretty good detail on the tracks such as background images and other things. -The sounds are fairly realistic, from the engine noises to tire squeals. There's even a spotter helping you out on the track via radio communication. -You can set up your car to your own liking for any track. -When pitting you can decide what changes (if any) you want done to your car. This includes tires, wedge adjustment, fuel and other tweaks. -You can fully design and paint your own car. -Crashes are fairly realistic. Damage is fairly realistic. At times debris gets scattered on the track which can influence flat tires and cautions and such. -You can pit under green flag racing or under caution. -Drafting is realistic. If you play a track such as Talladega where drafting is especially important and you are all alone, the CPU will eventually "freight train" and catch up and potentially pass you. -You can set up your car to your own liking for any track and save your configuration. The bad: -At times you can be involved in an accident and the caution will not come out, even if it's a major accident. Period. I have only experienced this twice, so more times than not it does not happen but the fact remains it does happen. -When doing pit stops there are several bugs/glitches, though this is only when other CPU cars are pitting at the same time with pit boxes near your pit box. An example would be CPU cars driving through your pit box and car as if nothing were there. -Starts and restarts are flat out horrible. Cars will begin picking up speed before the flag is thrown and before reaching the start-finish line (including your own car automatically) once the green flag is thrown you manually control your car again. -Damage is very inconsistent for the CPU cars. At times it's not bad, other times a handful of other cars on the track can crash into each other several times and drive off with minimal or no damage. -Mutliplayer seems to have issues. I've only tried playing online twice but I've froze both times as soon as my car can be seen on the track. Eutechnyx has listed a LARGE list of fixes and improvements for a future update release. Everything under the bad portion I listed has some sort of improvement that Eutechnyx has stated will be in the upcoming update. There's a lot of other things said to be fixed that I have not listed which Eutechnyx said will be improved. Right now this is a GOOD game. If Eutechnyx goes through with all the fixes and improvements that they've claimed to be working on this will be a GREAT game. 04/18/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Quit Crying This is a good solid racing game, the racing is actually fun. The AI doesnt race on a rail. There is only Sprint cup racing tho, no nat or trucks. There are bugs but if you google nascar the game and go to the website youll see they are fixing a lot of the bugs and adding some new features...something EA never did. 04/15/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding This is a fantastic game. the graphics are good, have option of doing a short race or the full race, and have the ability to design your own car. downfalls of the game include some crashes don't seem realistic, no tape, multiple cars have the same number, and your car seems to damage A LOT easier than the computer cars. It is a fantastic game for any nascar fan. looking forward to the release of the next one. 08/11/2012
