I was looking for ball with a higher performance, but one that was cost effective AND more durable. I had been using the Bridgestone e7, but they would only last one round before the covers were worn out. I tested the Gamer V2 on my launch monitor against the e7 for spin and distance. The Gamer had a bit lower spin with the driver (which was great), but it also had just a touch lower spin with the 8 iron and wedges, which was still very acceptable. The ball can be worked quite well, and it will hold a green very nicely. It also feels nice and soft around the greens. The main difference was that the gamer core was MUCH more reactive. I was getting an average of about 5 to 7 mph. more ball speed with all the clubs than the e7. That translates into about 7 to 10 yards more distance per club than the e7. The other bit of great news, is that the gamer was MUCH more durable. I hit the same ball a total of more than 300 shots with all of the test clubs, and it didn't wrinkle or scuff anywhere close to the e7. It showed some wear mind you, but it held up very well. I have since played two rounds with the same sleeve, and can probably play it a couple more rounds before retiring them as range ball donations. I was very impressed with this little guy, and will be using it as a main stay for awhile! ...btw, I have an 8 handicap, can shape my shots, and have an average driver club head speed of 98 mph if that helps...

The "old" top flites were rocks; begineers played them because they were durable and pretty cheap. This new ball is really a quality ball, that has good durability, good spin on short irons and low spin off the driver.
