I love these weights.
They replace a bunch of free weights, and dumbbell bars with screw on collars. The old weights did the job, but were really slow. Sometimes I felt like I was working out for 20 minutes and changing weights for 40. Just starting my third week of p90x ( lost 12 lbs so far, using bands that weren't heavy enough ) and these guys work great. Super fast to change! They do the job of 1700 lbs of regular dumbbells, that would cost you two grand, and a lot of wall space.
On the downside: These are big (long) weights. Especially on the lighter settings, if you are used to traditional dumbbells, you'll have to hold them farther apart. Also the grips are a little weird. They are textured, which is good. The shape is like an O that is flattened on top and bottom. It's comfy in my large hands, but I've heard others complain that their hands hurt and that they had to wear workout gloves.
Overall I'd highly recommend these to any one that likes lifting, knows they are going to keep lifting, and plans on going past 50 lbs.

Bowflex has made some quality dumbbell adjustable with this equipment. I like the grip and changing amount of weight is quick. The length is a little long but acceptable once you get use to them so the overhead press exercise can be done safely. I haven't had any weights fall out so I perceive a well-manufactured equipment and would recommend the Bowflex 1090 for performing Tricep Extensions and Arm Curl (as pictured). There are plenty of dumbbell adjustable exercises and workouts at home which can be performed with just one dumbbell so buy one now and the other one at a later time. The gorgeous look boutique of dumbbell adjustable exercises used for building muscles and giving you the body you want takes time and Bowflex equipment will be around for a long time to help you obtain it. The Bowflex SelectTech 1090 Dumbbell is perfect when it comes to a workout for women. Women are afraid to build muscles. Those fatty arms will need dumbbells workouts to replace it with lean muscles and give more arm strength.
