I don't usually write reviews, but I was disappointed enough to write a review on this blender. I've owned this blender for around three months, and it is terrible. When I first bought it, I used it to make a smoothie, and it did not hold up well. It does not do a good job of blending the mixture. The mixture mostly sits at the bottom of the jar. It was a total mess. The more I tried to get it to blend the bigger the mess I made. It performs terribly. I encourage others not to purchase this one. If you like to make smoothies....shakes, malts, etc...this is not the blender for you. Very disappointed with this product. Yea...it looks good....That's about it!!!!

This blender would be fine if you didn't want to make malts, shakes, or smoothies because thicker mixtures just sit there while the bottom bit of it gets turned into a liquefied mess. I bought it because of the price and how it looked, but now after going through two Oster blenders it's clear that you get what you pay for.

Durability is very good. The metal to metal connection makes it stronger and reduces clutch wear. I wish other makes would do likewise.
Overall it is a great project.

I love my blender. It meets all my expectations. It came fully assembled which was the reason I like it most. It is not very noisy as my other hamilton beach blender I had before. I would definetely recommend it.

This was awful! The shape of the jar makes it so that whatever you're trying to chop doesn't get down toward the blades. We were continually having to stop and stir, stop and stir on a simple smoothie. I ended up pulling out the blender we were trying to replace (an 8 yr old blender we'd originally paid $15 for) and it did the job (except for the smoking motor which was why we were replacing it). Ultimately, we returned this blender to WM and bought Oster's much cheaper $25 blender and we're loving it.

Like the other reviewers have said, this blender is awful at making smoothies. There have been many, many mornings when it's taken me 10+ minutes to make one smoothie because this stupid machine doesn't blend properly. Every 30 seconds, I have to stop the blender, open the lid and stir the contents ... otherwise, the blades spin and nothing happens.
This is THE WORST appliance in my kitchen and I will be replacing it ASAP.

I was very disappointed with this blender. The first time I used it the bottom of the glass jar fell out, smoothie all over the place, it was a total mess. I am very disappointed with this product.

I own four! I have a concession trailer and do all of my local fairs. We make about 100 smoothies a day during the summer on weekends. I can't say enough great things about this blender. I've used others, even more expensive ones, but they aren't as good as this one. I purchased the blenders about 2 years ago. At the time I though even if I get 1/2 way through the season and need to replace them it would still be cheaper then purchasing a $700.00 blender. To my surprise they are still going strong - getting ready for the upcoming season.

I have had my blender for over a year now, and it is like new, works hard everyday, no fuss, no mess, blends all my smoothies, shakes, ice, everything is perfect, I cant say enough of the mulit-uses, I have even used it to process some baby food. So simple to use even my 9year old makes her own shakes...Best price for such a great product.......

This Oster is another in a line of quailty units I have and use from Oster. This unit combines a large blending container with mutispeed control and ease of cleaning and really looks good on my counter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by DevJosh This is a great product for me because no need to change any blade,sturdy connector between motor and bowl,easy to operate and nice looking.I have three mixers of the another company but because of plastic connectors all are became useless but this is only best attechment for long running machine.I did everything what i want and i found complete satisfaction.One important point is single blade with veriable speed does everything.I dont like to change different blade for different work,it is one kind of safety issue.Price is more than reasonable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by beckfan Biggest plus for us buying this blender was the fact that it had all metal drive. Have had several products with plastic gears which broke rather quickly.
Purchased this from Walmart.com even though item was in the store. Was less than half the price online!! Pays to look online and in store both!!!

Most Important: The blender has a glass jar that can dis-assemble completely for easy cleaning. The motor technology used in most blenders, including this one is a mature one so that should not be a concern for anyone. Ease of use and toxicity of materials is and should be a concern. On those points this model is a clear winner. The foods don't really come into contact with any plastics, the blade and the seals come off the jar completely so they can be cleaned easily. The materials are dishwasher safe though I haven't washed them in the dishwasher yet. I can't really comment on the durability because we haven;t had it for a very long time, but the unit seems solidly built. If the seals that prevent the food from flooding the blade driver unit last then the rest of it shouldn't really have a problem. But for its price it is a great buy. One can get cheaper blenders but then they come with plastic jars.

I've had my blender for about a year and after reading some of the reviews I just had to chime in. I use mine to make a power drink using fresh fruits and veggies, ice, greek yogurt, and organic juice/veggie drink. If you put the ice, juice - 8-12 ounces, and yogurt in first and place the solid fruits and veggies on top, using the smoothie or puree setting for about 1 to 2 minutes, you will be amazed as to how well this blender works. Trust me, I've used carrots, spinach, kale, apples, bananas, you name it! I have friends who have invested in the juicing machines which are very expensive and when we compare our experiences I find this Oster blender is a great buy. It totally blends all ingredients as if I've gone to Jamba Juice. That's saying a lot!!! I highly recommend this blender for anyone that juicing!

I purchased this blender because I wanted to start to make smoothies more often. I didn't think that my old cheap blender could hold up to daily use. This blender appealed to me because it has a beautiful glass jar and was fairly reasonably priced. As it turns out, this is the worst blender I have ever owned. All the fruit just gets stuck at the bottom of the blender while the pitiful little blades just spin and spin. I had to constantly take the top off and use a spoon to stir the contents of my smoothie to get them in a good place to accidentally get touched by the stupid little blade. I hate this blender. After 3 different tries, the darn thing started leaking smoothie out of the bottom of the blender!! This is the worst piece of junk I have ever wasted my hard earned money on and I will never, ever buy another Oster product again. I could have gone to one of those dollar stores and bought a generic blender for a fraction of the price and probably got a better result. I bought the stupid replacement plan but I am not even going to use it. I have had this thing less than a week and I will be returning it tomorrow. It's useless. Please save yourself the hassle and don't purchase this piece of garbage.

My GE blender is in the trash so I bought one of these. I wish I spent a couple more bucks and got 600 watts instead of 475 watts. I will purchase the smaller mug for 13. bucks I hope that will satisfy my blending experences for now. Been on a diet and mixing protien shakes with ice and frozen fruit, delicious and keeps me in my zone.
