Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleasantly Surprised Purchased this desk for my teen son's room, which is quite small. I did not have high expectations for quality given the price was less than $100. The desk is made of MDF board and was actually quite sturdy once we put it together. The instructions are not the best, but after about 2 hours my husband and I completed the assembly. All of the pieces fit together nicely and the desk looks like we paid a lot more for it then we did. We are quite pleased with it. 06/23/2010

Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome! The desk is of a great quality for the price. I use it to watch class online lectures off of one laptop and type the notes onto another laptop, so the space is perfect. Having the little self on top allows you to stack some extra light books or a pencil holder. I put it together on my own (with the exception of the first 5 steps where my boyfriend helped). It would probably be a lot easier with 2 people though. Over all amazing product for such a good price. Perfect for college apartment. 02/05/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great value if you need a small desk Let me start by saying that I have bought my first piece of furniture from this manufacturer about two years ago and liked it so much that most of my furniture at home is now from the same brand. For the price, this desk is a really good deal. It is not huge, but if you are ok with a smaller desk, this might work for you. I use this desk as my home work station. I would prefer a larger desk but my space is limited at home so this one works best for me. I currently have a 22" screen plus my laptop opened on the desk and I still have a little room for a notepad to write on. As far as looks, this desk looks very sharp (I have the chocolate one) and looks more expensive than it actually is. I particularly like the built in "shelf" that's great for a lamp, picture frame or what ever you want to put up. Assembly was easier than expected and took about one hour. Best things about this desk are looks and price. 07/17/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Just what I was looking for. Nice compact desk. Did a lot of research to find a compact desk to fit my needs that had storage space. The drawer and shelf space fit the bill. Was not too difficult to build (although the drawer rails instruction could have been a bit clearer). Over all it took me about 4 hours to assemble by myself. My only complaint is that a couple pieces came with little nics on the edges but I took advice from other reviewers and used a sharpie pen to color it in...did the job! Was concerned that top surface would eventually become scratched and chipped so I went to the office supply store and purchased a Krystal View clear desk pad to protect the surface. Overall this is a very sturdy desk at a great price. Very pleased with purchase and would definitely recommend it. 02/17/2011

It looks good and is matching well with the rest of the furniture. The edges are a bit sharp, but this is to be expected since it is not a solid wood object. Rated 5 out of 5 by inexpensive desk This is a very cheap desk....price wise AND quality. BUT that is exactly what I was looking for. I mean for the price you can't expect great quality. It DID take around 2 hours to assemble.. but they did make it very simple & easy. You will need an extra person at the end to stand up & attach all the pieces together. Rated 4 out of 5 by Cute & Practical Desk was pretty easy to set-up. It took me 1.25 hrs & I did it alone - except for the large 3 pieces at the end - got help from the husband. My child age 7 loves it. Only negative would be the chips from shipping - I had to use a black sharpie marker to color in those nicks. To preserve top of desk - I'm using an old calander blotter (cardboard form) & had to cut it out at the top to fit in position with the top shelf - if you have this desk, you know what I mean. This way when you write on it or use glue, etc you won't ruin the top of the wood. 01/23/2011

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Student Desk! Once we got the desk put together it looked great! Fits really well in my teenaged daughter's room and plenty of desk workspace. Also like the small shelf on top for her pics and what-nots. The only issue we had was that the parts/pieces were not all labeled. I did aniticipate this due to other reviews I had read however figured it was only a couple of pieces not half of them!!! We would have finished a lot quicker had to not had to figure out what piece was what. Overall ... I would definately buy this again. 12/20/2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works Great The desk worked perfectly for what we needed it for. My husband had a small desk, but needed one a littel bigger since he was using a TV stand for this printer. He works from home, so we bought for his work computer, but it turned out to be big enough to hold everything we needed plus more. He has his computer tower, monitor, speakers and printer all on the second tier. Because this old desk was on wheels it was taller, and he's a tall guy, so we did have to remove the keyboard tray , but he has this keyboard and mouse on the first tier, and his one personal laptop on the first tier along with a stack of papers. I didn't think it would hold everything, but it did. It may be small but the two tiers allows for so much more stuff to be put on it. Love it, and would recommend it if you needed a small desk and this size fit for you. Was not hard to put together. 11/07/2011

I was also worried that the black would chip or scratch very easily, but it doesn't seem to. I would recommend this desk. 07/24/2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT DESK FOR THE MONEY-TAKES ABOUT 2 HOURS TO PUT TOGETHER, BUT AT LEAST ALL THE PARTS WERE THERE WHICH IN ITSELF IS GREAT! WOULD DEFINITELY PURCHASE THIS BRAND AGAIN! WE ALSO GOT A PURPLE DESK CHAIR WHICH WAS A HUGE HIT-WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!! 12/26/2011

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bought this for my daughter in college. Well marked which made it easier to put together than most build it yourself furniture. The fiberboard on one of the drawers crumbled some when we tried to screw it together but more towards the back, so hopefully it will hold up. Not too bad for the use it will be getting. Hopefully will hold up for a few years, time will tell. 09/20/2011

Rated 4 out of 5 by Its Great For Small Rooms (: I bought this desk a few weeks ago and I love it. I was shopping for new bedroom set and this computer desk went great with my other furniture. Its good for small rooms because it doesn't take up much space but has a nice sized drawer and two shelves.It is also very simple to put together. The only thing I didn't like about the desk is that its not very complex. Its shakes at the slightest movements and collects dust so I have to dust it everyday!But besides that its a nice desk. 08/17/2011

There were some dings and where the paint has already rubbed off on the desk in the process of putting it together. Nothing that a black Sharpie marker can't fix. Rated 5 out of 5 by This desk was fairly easy to put together. Most of the parts were marked on the side of the wood itself, rather than stickers. Only some parts weren't marked, but the process of elimination, and pictures helped. My only negative comment, is once put together, there were scratches on the wood. I would recommend the manufacturer to put some sort of protector on desktop to be removed after putting the desk together. 08/29/2010

Several of the pieces are NOT marked with a letter and you have to keep referring to the blown up diagram to decipher. It seems sturdy enough and I hope it withstands my active 11 year old! 08/07/2010

Would recommend to anyone needing a reasonably priced, compact desk. I actually bought several items from this South Shore line to redecorate my 10 year old's very small bedroom and am pleased with them all. 07/05/2010
Rated 2 out of 5 by **Do Not Buy** *Sigh* what a waste of money. The desk is made so cheap that some of the pieces actually broke or cracked during assembly. I needed a small desk for a bedroom/office combo and thought this would do the trick. The size is good, but the material of the desk is just horrible. Once I find another desk to replace this one, I will be throwing this one away. 09/29/2011
