Rated 5 out of 5 by Canopyfan2 1 year and going strong, GREAT phone
I left Sprint after 8 years to go with Straight Talk and I've been completely satisfied. This 100C phone is great. It's a basic phone but does EVERYTHING I NEED it to do. I rarely ever have dropped calls. I love the open face style, bright display, keys are large and they 'click', sound and volume are excellent. It's just a great basic-use phone. Internet is a bit slow even with 4 bars but I don't use it for much. I check the weather and the headlines at my LOCAL station and large text is appreciated. MAPQUEST is great because I ride a motorbike several hundred miles a week, need directions quite a bit lol! You can download ringtones from the ST website but they're not so great. I've been unable to use online banking. So I've had this great phone, actually three of them, for a year and in January I get my free month for continuous service. You can't beat $33 (with tax) for 1000/1000/30mb of phone, texting, and data. There aren't many accessories available though. I found a car charger but can't find a case I like. It comes with a wall charger. The phone I use for my main number got washed and it took two days to dry out but it works fine! I bought a new battery (actally I bought a whole new phone rather than just pay for battery only) for it because I was unable to charge it after the wash but now that battery works too! Tough little phone, which I've now dropped, washed, had the kitten chew the rubber from... I'm impressed. This is the model for me and many others who want a workhorse without a camera and bluetooth. I'd rate this phone and ST a 10 whereas my former provider, Sprint, I'd rate a 5. Straight Talk has much improved their Customer Service experience too, hands down this is a great service for budget minded adults.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Outatsea No need for the browser
This was a great little purchase for my parents. And as far as buying technology for tech unsavvy elders are concerned, my criteria were pretty simple; easy buttons, bright sharp screen, simple to navigate, some assistance for the hard of hearing, and most importantly - consistent reception.
This phone fulfills all those criteria, and came with double minutes for a ridiculously cheap price. So it's initially hard to find fault with it at all (given it's as cheap as it is). But there are two issues that were brought to my attention upon flippantly querying how it was working out: The first point of contention was that the browser button has a habit of getting pressed when it's not supposed to be activated. This is however solvable, as I later found out. The browser can be deactivated. Secondly, apparently the battery life isn't as good a it needs to be charged every two days (and it's not like my folks spend time on the phone...and having said that, I have had the unfortunate experience of paying witness to the time it takes for my mom to compile, edit, re-write and text).
Apart from fulfilling my criteria, I chose the phone because it was small, and I thought it looked neat. My folks have no need for a browser, so that was an extra. When the browser started eating away at the minutes when not invited to the party, that was annoying, but was easily fixed.

The STRAIGHT TALK LG 100C HANDSET
is a great phone very slim sleek little phone. Dosent have all the bells and whistles of some of Straight Talks outher phones like Bluetooth wireless technology but i must say i love this little phone great price and it works. phone calls are very clear and i have yet to drop a call. I have hade outher prepaid unlimited plans and they wear really bad it would take 5 min for each of my text to download and i never had services lol so im pretty happy with the Straight Talk services as well. But i would not recomend this phone to any one that is realy in to texting alot, web surffing or any thing like that this phone was maid to make and recive calls and to send and recive text not for some one that ther phone is the center of ther life if your looking for that go with eather the Straight Talk Samsung R451C or Straight Talk Samsung R355C.
Hope this helped have a blessed day
Rated 5 out of 5 by TimH19317 Excellent basic phone
Excels as a basic phone. Voice clarity is excellent, both listening and talking. Very simple to use, large buttons, simple menu structure, decent talk/standby time.
As others have pointed out, this phone has excellent reception and this little budget phone can often place and maintain phone calls where my FAR more expensive company berry phone does not work.
If your looking for a phone to check email, play games, IM, Bluetooth, take pictures, listen to music this is NOT the phone for you.
If you want an excellent phone to JUST place and receive clear calls, this it. Wow, a phone that excels as a phone, with no addded gadgets or gimmicks. Nowadays, what a concept!!!!!
Rated 4 out of 5 Great cell phone plan!!!
This cell phone and the $45 unlimited plan is great, i might update my phone eventually, but you can not get this deal any where wiht a "plan" though a cell phone comany, its an amazing deal, i would tell everyone to do it, i hear my friends talking about how much they pay and its rediculous! i tell them about straight talk and the unlimited anytime any where text minutes and web and they are shocked that it exists, well folks IT DOES!! and you need to get this, well you dont need it but its the best one out there! so all in all its great, the only reason i gave it 4 out of 5 is because the phone i got is simple, but it was inexspensive and that is what i could do at the time. they have great phones though, that are still inexspensive, im just cheap lol! get it get get it lol!!!!!
Rated 1 out of 5 Junk
I purchase this product because I wasnt sure if I would like the straight talk, but I did but expected the phone to last longer. I have had the phone all most three months it didn't quite make 90 days. Another problem the way the phone is made I continually pressed keys by mistake. Even when I lock the phone I was still able to press the keys by mistake. And not it turns it self on and off every 1-2 mins. It's a peace of junk. It wouldn't even make a good toy for a kid.
Rated 4 out of 5 by lionshare Great match for country living.
We live in a 'fringe area' and this phone performs exceptionally well in the known 'drop zones'.

Outstanding phone. I have had great reception indoors and out. Clear sound and easy to operate. Durable. Great phone for those who need "a phone", not a mobile computer system.

My husband just gave this to me as an early Christmas present and I love it! This phone along with my unlimited everything plan - I couldn't be happier!
Rated 4 out of 5 by FerretDad Great value; many features.
This phone is a great buy. First and foremost it arrived well packaged BEFORE the date stated that I would receive it. Has more features than described, such as being able to record a call up to a minute, albeit only the audio of the person you are calling, not both sides of a conversation, multiple alarms that can be programmed in advance and a very usable speakerphone with clear sound. Battery life expectancy could be better, but for the size and rating it's about average. Good ergonomic keyboard layout and a clear, bright display. For those like me without 20/20 vision, you can adjust the size of the phone numbers you are calling to avoid mis-dialing, a nice touch. Now the down side: customer service seems to be outsourced (read: OVERSEAS), and they are notorious for being hard to understand, although courteous. I spoke with them about sending me a new battery (under warranty) and they happily did...along with a replacement phone without return postage. Will call them to make sure that I do not get charged for it and request they pay for return shipping. Size is small and unobtrusive, but would recommend that they replace the thin black strips down the side with rubber; prone to drop out of your hands due to it's diminutive size and light weight. I need a reliable phone for animal rescue that I do and it fits the bill perfectly. No dropped calls nor lack of service in rural Missouri. On par with TracFone, the parent company of StraighTalk. I own a (Motorola) TracFone, too and works as well as their service, but more cost effective in the long run and better quality by far. I would recommend that you download the instructions and look them over to help make a decision if this is the right phone for you.
Rated 5 out of 5 by teddy1981 Excellent phone
Arrived today so far a excellent phone no trouble here, has great signal, loud and clear. This phone works better then my touch screen android phone I had no freezing up, love this basic phone.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Alacron Overly impressed with performance...
Purchased camera-free phone for work (only). Extremely impressed with the operation of the simple phone. Great signal in some reserved locations. Clear voice on all calls. Texting great as well. The plan i have is 1000 minutes and that is perfect for the limited use that require.
Rated 1 out of 5 by lottusblossom not very reliable
I have had several problems with my straight talk phone. I was missing texts and when I called the customer support they didn't have any answers for me. In fact, one of the representatives told me she would call me back and never did. Then the phone didn't allow me to receive or make phone calls when I had over 500 minutes left. I am very disappointed, especially after I saw all the positive comments which is why I bought the phone.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Dreydrey Easy to use
I had my phone number ported from another company to Straight talk and everything went very smoothly. It took just a few minutes and the phone is easy to use.
Rated 5 out of 5 by mywmstuff2 Great Phone Deal!
Great phone value and phone deal! Work great and no missed calls or drops!
Rated 5 out of 5 by Lisasy Straight Talk Prepaid LG 100C Handset
I have been extremely happy with this phone. It is the first prepaid I have ever had and it is just as good as all the other contract phones I have ever had!! Straighttalk is a bargin. Couldn't be any happier.
Rated 5 out of 5 by jamwrm IF YOU WANT TO CUT YOUR PHONE BILL DOWN,TRY THIS PHONE.WORKS OFF VERIZON AND HASN'T FAILED US YET.WITH THE 30.00 CARD WE CUT OUR BILL ABOUT 20.00 WITH .....PLENTY OF TEXTS AND TALK FOR US RETIRED FOLKS.IT PERFORMS WELL.WORRIED ABOUT TURNING ON IN MY PURSE BUT YOU CAN LOCK IT .A NO FRILL NO CAMERA PHONE; BUT IT SERVES US WELL FOR WHAT WE WANT IN A PHONE.
Rated 3 out of 5 by GeminiJ bummer you cannot receive picture messages
Rated 5 out of 5 by mistynjax This phone runs off Verizon towers so the coverage is great!
Rated 4 out of 5 by Monkeybob Excellent phone for the price.
This is an excellent phone for the price. Works very well. It has no camera and isn't blue tooth compatable. The owners manual is useless. The manual that is available on line through straight talk is a little better. It is necessary to use tape to keep the back on this phone. Otherwise it is worth the money.
Rated 3 out of 5 by DataCollector Okay, but a bit disappointed
I needed a cheap phone-not for every day, but specific purposes. It certainly fit the bill. It is so light and easy to carry and I can hear well with it. I couldn't figure out how to do 3-way calling and when I called the StraightTalk tech support, I was told that no StraightTalk no longer supports 3 way calls on any of their phones. That disappointed me and if I had known in advance, I wouldn't have purchased it!
Rated 5 out of 5 by ScottTVgirl Great Phone
I would recommended this phone if you want a basic phone with no camera. It works for days on one battery cell.
Rated 1 out of 5 by elbeetibby is NOT nationwide coverage as advertised
We bought the phones (2) and the 30 day package to use when we were traveling. Went to Door County, WI and had NO coverage. We will be here for 1 month and are waiting for a phone call when our daughter goes into labor. Hmm, we will not be able to get that phone call. I used up one day trying to figure out what the problem was because my husbands Verizon phone always worked over here previously, and Verizon was the parent company of this package. Found out that we have to have an Android phone to work over here because Sprint is the carrier here. Why wasn't this mentioned? All I read was Nation wide! Very Disappointed.
Rated 1 out of 5 by bigred78 total wast of money
I can't even get this phone activated. According to straight talks service coverage map, all of Louisiana has coverage, but my phone just says no service. Not only did I waste money on the phone, but also the service card that is non refundable. Don't waste your money.
Rated 3 out of 5 by 1junior I do like the product, somewhat. It is very sleek, very audible.Love the size of the numbers.Hate the standard ringtone. The back of the phone does not securely fit.I used scotch tape.I'm not sure, though,if I would recormmend this product to others. Junior
Rated 5 out of 5 by smroll75 Great simple Phone
This phone is perfect for the basics. I have yet to have a dropped call and I live in the woods. The monthly rates on Straight Talks service is unbeatable compared to Verizon; which was killing me monthly. It does not have a camera or video capability, but calls are clear (which is the most important feature)
Rated 5 out of 5 by dcmcse Excellent Simple Phone
Overall better than expected. Simple and easy to use. Works great. No dropped calls, good battery life. I have been using straight talk in long island for a month. Much better than my tmobile service, lower cost and no contracts. Will never go to a contract again. Love straight talk and love the phone. This is the way to go.
Rated 5 out of 5 by SparksNV Love it!
Switched from Verizon $80/month to $30/month StraightTalk plan. Service (may be new cell phone) seems to be better than what I had (Samsung 650).
I am HOOKED!!!. Thank you Walmart..!!!
Rated 5 out of 5 by Evet I really like this cell phone. At first I had a problem with getting the back off, but once I got the back fitted in properly; everything has been fine. I do wish it had a cover as when the phone is pressed against something in my pocket, the pressure makes the keys function. However, all in all, I like this cell because the tone and volume are clear and loud enough. It is also very easy to use. It is a great value for the price.
