I ordered this dvd because it was listed as the widescreen version. As soon as I played it I had to use the zoom feature on my dvd player so it would play in widescreen mode loosing a lot of resolution in the process. If I had known that I probably would not have purchased this dvd.Other than that it is a good movie with dolby digital 5.1 sound.

All in all, Metro is not a bad flick. When I was just a small lad, I used to think it actually was another Beverly Hills Cop movie. It's not, but actually is still a pretty good performance by Eddie Murphy. One of the descriptive words I've seen listed for this movie is "comedy." But actually, it's more of a drama/thriller with a little comedy thrown in along the way. I thought the beginning scene is particularly good with Murphy trying to difuse a bank robbery with a crazed gunmen at a San Francisco bank. It's probably one of the most dramatic parts in the whole film and is Eddie's best scene in my opinion. It's also kind of a unique way to start the film off like this, but also a good one for the overall context. Murphy plays Scott Roper, a hostage negotiator that has some personal problems he hopes to overcome by reconciling with his estranged newspaper reporter girlfriend. There are some neat action sequences thrown in here that you might also like. Either way, Metro is worth taking a look at. I expected something a little different than what I got, but what I did get was pretty good and made it a pretty enjoyable night for me, and if you get this, I bet you will say the same.
