Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Bike I was so excited to get this bike and the design of it is sporty while still being just a bit girly with the swirly designs on it. I was surprised at how plastic some of it looked, such as the brake handles and the pedals but I've had this bike for about a month and so far no problems and I ride about 12 miles a week. The seat gets a bit uncomfortable after riding it for a while but that can be said for most bike seats but I don't have much cushioning on me anyway! So glad I got this one though! 08/13/2009
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good bike for a novice biker. I bought this bike for my wife and she has tried it 2-3 times so far. The product isn't bad at all. You get what you paid pretty much. Pro: Beautiful paint color, sturdy bike, easy assembly, fork suspension works really well especially when it comes to braking. Con: Heavy, plastic look handle grip/brake levers/gears, chipped paint during delivery, not fast (she tried the highest gear --> it is the same as my Specialized 3rd lowest gear). The bike is designed for a novice user, if you don't want to spend that much money for a bike since you will only use it 10-20 times in the summer, then this is the bike for you. If you will use it quite often for commuting or serious mountain biking, then think about spending another $200 for a better bike. 04/24/2010
Rated 3 out of 5 by You get what you pay for This bike is exactly what you would expect for the price. We purchased it because we were having trouble buying a Schwinn product in this size and with the right color. We figured if we could not get exactly what we want, we would buy cheap and upgrade later. It is a cheap bike - many of the components are plastic including the pedals and, from what I can tell, the arms the pedals connect to (some of the material got scored out by the wrench I was using). The brake levers are plastic too. The gear changes are not a one click one gear change. You have to keep clicking the control until the change happens - there is no positive action like I have on my Trek mountain bike (again, it's all down to price...) Don't expect to do any mountain biking with this one. Make no mistake, this is a casual road bike and is not built for rugged terrain. However, if you need a cheap bike for a casual rider, this might be the product for you. We purchased it online-to-store and the box it came in was really beat up. The handlebars were scuffed and there were a few chips in the frame. I suggest you buy at the store and get a chance to look it over for blemishes before you buy. If I had known the bike was in less than pristine condition when I took it home, I would have asked for a discount. I'm not entirely convinced that this was a new product - it's condition resembled a refurbished product to me. 12/28/2010
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Price - Confusing Assembly The bike comes at a good price and is a good beginner bike. However, the assembly leaves something to be desired. The instructions from the manufacturer are confusing because they use one book for all different lines of bikes (instead of specific instructions for this bike). Also...the brakes that were pre-assembled were not properly lined up or calibrated. Had to spend an extra hour and a half working on them to get it right. get what you pay for (a good value beginner bike). But frustrating assembly!! 04/30/2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bike I read a review on one site for this bike. The person was not happy, but read 5 excellent reviews at this site. I figured the person who failed this bike must be a compition biker. Who should be buy a bike around $600. I love it. 01/11/2012
